With Winter coming on, and a few “Dates” upcoming, I thought now’s the time to reflect on my game, and the game overall. Let’s begin.
Most of you know of my exploits earlier this year, so Ww won’t get into it too much. Suffice to say, I have learned a lot, and my abilities are very much improved, and I learned a few things I didn’t expect to. Watched a lot of how to videos on the YT, like, but what got me was the Pro tournaments, the best in the world, the hardest courses. I thought, how do they even do that? Through those trees? Over that lake? Yes, and a whole lot more. Jomez Pro
What also caught my eye were the amount of errant shots, tree hits, water dunks, and quadruple bogeys they all made, shit happens, even to the best. It was then I realized it was the shot, not the game that was important; no shot, no game, yes? The next thing you know, I was teleported from BhC Arizona to a place in Central Michigan………
/insert Wayne’s World ,Bidddleee oop,Bidddleee oop,Bidddleee oop, here
When I arrived the last thing on my mind was Disc, however my sister immediately took me past the local course. Hooray? When we got back to her house, I took stock of what I had with me, (I left a $600 bag of discs behind in AZ) and had enough to get started, pretty much from scratch, OK. My eyes popped out when I saw the number of courses close to me, and set out for adventure, which you have also seen. More on that later.
After playing the courses in central Michigan, trees and bushes, tall grass and full blown forest, I learned two very important things. First that it’s a good thing to try out and learn all those “pro” shots, you need to turn past that tree to make a bid for Birdie, just do it! For example. Second and most important to me was this, I needed to get away from the easy, wide open courses, and I needed to get away from my teachers, all good people, and some good teachers, but it was time for Grasshopper to jump.
Once I worked on my form alone, I could analyze and adjust. Videoing yourself helps.
And form, form, form, consistency is what we want, but one can’t just adopt another player’s style, you must develop your own, and I think I’m finally there. I play with 19 discs in my bag.
And I know how every one flies, but! 5 of them are twins, meaning the same mold, different plastic. Do I need all of them to play? No, you could play with one disc if you wanted to, sometimes I’ll grab a driver and a Midrange and go scramble, but I like choices.
Flight planes
Notice the increased wedge as the discs go from slow to fast? This has nothing to do with how fast you throw it, but how fast you spin the disc. Fast is good, but if you’re not spinning the disc fast enough, it won’t behave the way it should, sometimes this is good, but not if you don’t mean for it to, bad things happen….
Plastics and design
When I started it was DX plastic all the way, cheap, and they would break in really well, for a while. This was fine on open field, low impact courses, but hell on tree courses. DX is grippy and stable, til it gets ground to crap from impact and grinding on the ground.
I found these pretty, translucent discs and started buying them, pricey, but hey I had the cash, then I found out they were really durable, and unaffected by tree hits, this is the Champion line, by Innova.
I still have and use DX, but not around trees, and I use MvP overmolded, 2 plastic Putters,
as well as a few midranges, just to mix it up, this complicates things, just the way I like it, this is a Thinking Man’s sport, and harder than ball golf, IMO.
It took some time, but I now have a well rounded, fully usable game, that will take me forward, and I might live my life, in Peace.
It doesn’t matter what shape you are, or are in, this is the finest low impact sport you will ever play, go Spin that Shit! Throw Plastic at People!
“Let’s not worry about the luggage, Darlin”
(I left a $600 bag of discs behind in AZ)
Expensive hobby.
Expensive Sport
Expensive pastime?
You don’t need a bunch of discs,
It’s a Sport,
read the article,
Cheap compared to PC gaming.
And better for your health.
Or shooting.
How do those do hitting a tree at -40?
The DX will shatter, we don’t use them now, the Champion Plastic doesn’t care, those are the jellybean discs,
When I was in -40 conditions, I had these big overmittens on over my gloves. I had no frisbees with me at the time.
That is a great number of conditions to be in simultaneously.
Less than zero is a small number imo.
When it gets that cold those little chemical hand and foot warmers are a necessity unless you are an Inuit. That’s T-shirt weather.
Polarfleece batwings and travelling by skis made it quite bearable, unless we were crossing a lake. The the wind across those made me understand why Caina was frozen.

Hello Yusef. You alright, man? I’ve not been paying too much attention since the weekend when you had cryptic hypergraphia of the typing variety, Saturday night, and commodious spittoon was in an inebriated emotional quandary about (not) badoinking his ex.
Have we heard from CS since then? I was definitely concerned.
I haven’t seen him post since that night.
I had dropped off before he drunk posted. I saw it the next day.
Hopefully he (again) took the advice to sleep it off and not do anything drastic.
I thought he came back the next day, feeling a little better and maybe a little hungover. Maybe I’m misremembering but I was looking for him.
OK. It sounds like I missed him showing up the next day. I don’t remember looking that closely at the following days threads. Or maybe I’m thinking of another day.
Another incident?
The last incident I am aware of, and that was at TOS, was apparently caused by me, and no one has yet told me what it was.
You’re the one who got shikha fired? Did you have a video of her insulting the jacket or something?
One of the glib guys told me that I had pissed off one of the Glib wymmens. I generally try not to piss people off in general, particularly in a social setting, which is what Glibs is.
I don’t know what I was alleged to have done, and I don’t even remember whom it was claimed I had offended.
After fretting about it for a few minutes, I decided if I had offended someone, they could let me know and we could figure out what the miscommunication was, because it wouldn’t have been on purpose.
So, offer stands for anyone to email me (heck, on any topic) at my handle @ proton.
Impossible. There are no libertarian women.

To be uncharacteristically serious, someone encourage him to go get medicated. He reminds me an awful lot of myself c. 2008-ish.
Yusef, I hope you’re OK too.
I seriously want to play this game and intentionally not pay attention to politics for at least a year.
I wish you luck. Yes, I’m serious.
It’s Zen as fuck, I like to say, better than Ball Golf, which i played for 20 years,
I’m really fascinated by it, and have yet to play it. I never liked ball golf. I like throwing things better than hitting things with stick I suppose.
Look up some YT lessons, Dynamic Discs has some good ones, and watch a tournament, then get some discs,
I’ve watched a ton of Youtube on it, I’m hyped as hell to play.
Other than Putters, I use Innova, their Flight numbers are consistent, don’t buy less than 160 grams, I fly 175,
Bread and circuses. Excellent!
If you gotta go out, might as well be Golf and Beer!

It’s long past time for ZARDOZ to visit Chicago.
RE: what OMWC said about the vaccine in the last post. I have it on second hand info that the state of CO is requiring all medical type persons who might be involved in any sort of surgery have to be vaccinated for the VID or they are not allowed to keep their job. How is that for some state level jack booted thuggery. I heard an ad today on the radio that if you have taken Zantac and later diagnosed with cancer you could be a big winner in the class action lawsuit lottery. Fucking Zantac. Don’t do drugs unless you trust your dealer. Do you trust the government?
Grow your own, Amigo
We just do not release treatments, especially experimental types like this mRNA in this short of time. It’s not that I don’t think the FDA is too slow, I do, but this is taking it to the opposite extreme. We have no idea what long term side effects there could be, it just cannot be known. They should have kept this in trial for at least another year. And for a virus with a less than 2% mortality rate. Something stinks really bad here. This is the perfect setup for a disaster.
The FDA approved Zantac.
Are you saying that heartburn is worse than cancer? Really, Zantac causes cancer? WTF?
I have a feeling that is trivial to what an mRNA delivered mechanism, never yet tried, could cause. Zombie fucking apocalypse sheeple!
Let’s put is this way. I am in no way at all, the least bit afraid of the vid. If I have to take a choice right now between the vid and the vaccine. I’ll take the vid, no hesitation. I consider that not being stupid.
^This, I Ain’t nowhere’s near sickuns!
I’m not worried about the vid and I’m old. Stay away from the nursing home (as a resident). No vaccine. I don’t take the flu vaccine now, why would I take another unknown.
We never get any statistics about those that got the flu vaccine, got the flu anyway and died.
If a person lives long enough we all get cancer. I have no doubt the case came out of CA where prop 65 sayes everyfuckingthing gives you cancer. And you must have missed my prediction the other day. I have already called Zombies for 2021. The first one will be spotted in the UK. Trumps fault.
The FDA approved Vioxx too.
Good luck suing the FDA.

I can’t wait to cash in on 9/11 some day. “Were you somewhere in the vicinity of Ground Zero on or after 9/11?” Goddamn right I was.
Hey Yusef, you ever been to Frankenmuth?
Frankfort, yes, Where is Frankenmuth?
North of Flint. You need to go there, cool as fuck. Best Heffe at the brewery I’ve ever had. The city is unique as hell, you just have to see it.
South and East, I mean to get there on the way to Tres in Ohio,

However having multiple keyboards sucks. I keep accidentally toggling between them.
No kidding. Unfortunately they put in the joint account so I can’t put it in the “Heso kuri”.
Just convince her for something you both want.
In disc golf, is there a limit on the number and/or type of discs you can use during a round?
For instance, in “ball golf,” you get fourteen clubs, and you can use one type of ball for the round, i.e., no switching between a long distance ball on the par-5s and a softer ball with more spin and feel for par-3s. Is disc golf similarly restricted, or are you only limited by the strength of your back and the size case you’re willing to lug around?
no limit on discs, I have a lot of twins, if I lose one in play, I have a spare, this applies to my favorite discs only,
every disc flies a little different, so choose your flight accordingly.
Not that it matters to me, but AFAIK the rule is you can’t take a ball out of play on a hole once played before it is holed out unless it is damaged and you get your partner’s agreement. You could play 18 balls each round. For that matter, I’m pretty sure the pros toss their balls into the crowd after pretty much every hole.
After the hole plays out, you can change your Ball, we use our disc to set up the next shot, you must be behind and place your foot when throwing,
Yeah, you can use 18 balls per round. But they better all be the same (in tournament play, anyway). No switching between, say, Top-Flite Freaks and Titelist Pro V1s off the tee during the round.
Back in the old days, a Tour player would have his caddie put a few balls in his (the caddie’s) pocket when playing in cold weather. The caddie’s body warmth got the balls a few degrees above ambient temperature, which made for better compressability when hit and thus, longer drives.
Over the summer I bought Mass Effect: Andromeda. And since then I’ve gone back and played Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 again. Just went to install Mass Effect 3 for another playthrough, and it won’t let me because I guess I activated it with a different Origin account 8 years ago than the one I have now, even though it must have used the same e-mail, since I’ve had my main e-mail for 20 years. This is when digital gets to be shit, when you don’t ‘own’ the things you own.

Yeah, I don’t pay for streaming, only physical media, which I then convert to files for easier listening on my various systems.
This is a physical DVD-Rom, that I’ve had for 8 years, but because of the DRM I can’t install it right now. So even physical media can fuck you over. (The Blu-ray player on my computers requires an internet connection to play the physical discs as well. Too bad if I want to watch a movie I have a physical copy of when my internet is down (the player on my TV doesn’t require a connection though))
Remember when you could download a crack patching program to remove that crap. Hackers actually had a code.
Now I’d expect them all to install enough malware to make you wish you just were dealing with DRM.
I wouldn’t run one if you paid me.
That sucks.
I bought a super cheap bluray player at wal-mart for my workshop–it’s as dumb as they get, doesn’t even have a network connection of any kind.
Hey, this is pretty cool. I have never really thought much about disc golf. I’ve played once (only on one or two baskets at a picnic in a park that had a course) and was absolutely no good at it. I had no idea there were multiple types of discs for different intended flight paths and distances.
You can do a lot without having to worry about all the details, a starter set is enough, and watch the Pros, they hit every tree you can hit, it’s a good feeling,
So, is it easier to make curved paths or trick shots with the big or small angled wedges? What are the differences in flight characteristics?
And how do you control where the flight path begins to bend?
OK, the angle has to do with flight, if thrown at the correct speed, for Grenades and Spike Hyzers, a nice 12 speed sharp disc is cool, it will spike into the ground, no extra roll etc,
And that’s a whole other article, it’s complicated. Those above who called it a hobby are nuts, there is a lot of Science! to it, and smoking Weed,
Thanks to whomever recommended Occupied on Netflix. I’m nine episodes in: it’s solid. Very very believable.
Thanks for the info on the Corinth Civil War Museum. I think we might drive there the first night and start the day at the museum before heading to Shiloh.
We’re also going to hit Chickamauga and Lookout Mountain battle sites. Any recommendations for this area? I know we’ll check out the top of Lookout Mountain, but what about Rock City or other tourist attractions? Any idea if any of them are worth visiting, or just tourist traps?
I was a boy scout when we lived in the Chattanooga area. We hit all the battlefields. And I walked the Blue Beaver trail up to the top of Lookout Mountain.
I’m looking forward to it. I’ve wanted to check out the area ever since I first drove through on my way to Florida 30 years ago.
We close to one of the battle fields. I don’t remember which. It was basically in a low field surrounded by higher terrain with trees.
Being 11-13 yo scouts, we felt it necessary to get up in the middle of the night and wander around. It was a full, or nearly full, moon. And the battle field itself had fog/mist collecting in all the low spots.
It was one of the spookiest experiences that I had as a youth.
We camped close to . . . .
That sounds eerie, but cool. Based on the night and day time temps we might see some heavy for when walking around.
apologies if you know all this
There’s nothing to see about the battle at Tupelo. Alabama is worthless and was not fought over.
The railroad crossroads at Corinth is why Shiloh was fought.
Fort Pillow TN is creepy and out of the way. Columbus KY though has a fascinating siting on the bluffs above the confluence. I don’t know if there are any things to see at Donelson or Henry. Murfreesboro has a modest site. Shiloh beats them all.
Skip Rock City and Ruby Falls. The aquarium(s) in CHA are world-class and house amazing indigenous species exhibits and the last Reelfoot Lake boat that I know of. Lookout Mountain is neat; I’ve never done the Incline; take a lunch and kill it in Point Park for the best views in the area.
I’m probably headed from MEM to BHM, ATL, SAV Thursdayish. Feel free to ping me at Don_Escaped_Texas@outlook.com if you want to try to meet during any of that or if you just want to heap abuse on me for all my sins.
I’ve speculated about Glib golf quora around CHS, but RobC has never risen to my bait. I also haven’t noticed Cannoli ’round here lately who is pretty near your destinations.
Me and my brother are driving down there Thursday from Wisconsin, about 12-12.5 hour drive. Gonna do Shiloh Friday, and then we’re winging it. Saturday or Sunday we’re doing Chickamauga / Lookout Mountain, then tentatively Nashville for some live music before driving back Monday or Tuesday. If you are still around Memphis Thursday night a meetup might work. I’ll have to ask my brother.
I’ve read a shit ton of books on the Civil War, but most of it was 25 years ago so the memory is a little sketchy. My brother is much more up on the details than me.
You confirmed my suspicions about Lookout Mountain. The top and some the trails look like the way to go.
Regarding golf, me and my brother have probably spent way more time on a golf course than you, just on the maintenance side. Neither of us are very good golfers. We both went to college for soil science / golf course management. I got out after about 8 years and started a landscaping business, but my brother is still a Superintendent at a nice course. His budget sucks right now, but you’d love his greens. He knows what he’s doing.
I’ll be on the beach by the time you get here, it seems, so we’ll miss this time.
You missed Shelby Foote as well. Mr Shelby would walk past my office every day 30 years ago. His number was in the book and he would answer any reasonable question put to him at a reasonable hour. I always thought he was what a Mississippian should sound like. I’m something of a friend to his grandson . . . who seems to have never much read the man’s work . . . which is appalling.
Our backup plan was Savannah and Charleston (and meeting an old friend) if the weather was too crummy. Maybe next time. I really want to get to Memphis when it reopens. I LOVE the delta blues and soul music. Stax is on the bucket list. I hinted to my brother about swinging by Muscle Shoals on the way to Chattanooga to pay tribute to Duane Allman.
Shelby Foote is the man! I’ll be sure to mention this to my brother. He’s read Shelby’s Civil War trilogy a couple times. Another favorite is Stephen Ambrose. He grew up not too far from me in Whitewater, WI.
Check out Kennesaw Mtn battlefield was well. It is along the path from Atl north. Chickamauga is good. If you are svisiting Lookout check out Missionary Ridge as well. They are very close. There are a host of smaller battlefields but unless you have the Conservation Fund Guide to Civil War Battlefields you won’t find them. I highly recommend that book and it should be available for purchase at any NPS Visitor Center. Several hundred battles, with brief descriptions, how to get to the site, and portrayed on modern topographic maps.
Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll be sure to get that book. We’ll probably check out Missionary Ridge but not sure if we’ll get to Kennesaw Mtn.
Donelson is worth a look.
Civil War Battlefields at night are a real trip. I’ve stood in the sunken road at Fredericksburg on a winter’s night – no Northern Lights but a million stars. I’m embarrassed to say I once made out with a girlfriend one night in the same location. Hope the ghosts of 2,000 dead bluebellies were entertained.
I guess this is dead-thread, so just in case I’ll post on whatever’s new this morning as well, but if you end up heading South from Chattanooga/Chickamauga, then try the small site for the Battle of Allatoona Pass. It’s just off of I-75 before you get to Kennesaw.
Small battle, but well-preserved earthworks and extremely interesting terrain and story.
I’m not dead! I’m getting better!
I think tulip. Also enjoying it but subtitles so need to be a time that I can read the screen.
NewWife is mostly Norwegian (the first 5’9″ or so?), so it’s good for me. At this point I know more of the language than she does. It’s also neat to see familiar features. Here father’s clan regularly correspond on facebook; it seems the least creepy of the non-Mediterranean states.
Ohio and other Midwest glibs may understand my excitement. A Handel’s ice cream just opened up across the street from my MIL’s place! Already stopped in with the 3 year old, and I’m sure we’ll stop back in soon (benefit of winter in TX is that it’s still warm enough most of the time to get ice cream).
Is that like an In and Out in Manistee? Cause that would be great!
I’m not big on In N Out. Don’t hate it, but I’ll go to Whataburger 10 times out of 10.
There may be Handel’s up around you, but I guarantee they aren’t open right now.
We have very few Fast food places here, the bigs is about it, very small town, no Walmart,
We’re finally getting Whataburger in Kansas City… Thanks to Patrick Mahomes. I have never had it.
I said, meh, nothing to write about..
Folks either like in n out or Whataburger. I don’t know that I’ve met anybody who loves both. Two very different ways of doing a burger and fries.
I have never had an In n Out burger. I did like Whataburger quite a bit when I spent a few months in Texas about 20 years ago.
Whataburger is what you expect from Texas. Big, greasy, messy, and flavorful burger. In N Out is what you expect from California. Clean, refined, proportionate, simple burger.
I can respect both of those burgers, but prefer Whataburger because of the big flavor. What I can’t respect is single frying the French fries. That’s objectively wrong, and in n out’s fries are almost inedible because of it.
The best Whataburger is in Corpus on the beach just before a hockey game in the old armory.
I really liked Whataburger the one time I was in Texas. Ate there quite a few times, almost always after 2AM. Probably the best fast food burger I’ve ever had. I had In and Out a few times before they became all the rage and it was nothing special that I remember.
We had a Handel’s in our township. COVID killed it this summer. So pissed.
Sorry, Governor Wolf’s COVID policies killed it this summer.
The Messiah killed Handel’s?
Dammit, I’m too tired to come up with an appropriate response to that. Well played.
*slow clap*
It’s never too cold for ice cream.
Went through McDonald’s Drive-thru (even though not State mandated none of them have open dining areas here) a couple weeks ago when it was below freezing and the teens hanging out in the parking lot (smallest kind of town that can have McD’s franchise) were eating ‘ice-cream’ cones.
At least they weren’t eating cow pies.
Cow Pies are less racist than Eskimo Pies.
When I was cool (at least ten years ago) I would hit a patio in Little Elm on the lake that had frozen margaritas that the senoritas liked.
I was reading an email today I wrote then about Lawyer1, the girl who taught me to hate SMU.
But on balance, Texas chicks were better to me than I deserved.
I would hit a patio in Little Elm on the lake that had frozen margaritas that the senoritas liked.
The Hawaiian place?
We’re seriously considering buying in Little Elm. Only problem is that I want acreage and lakefront, and I’m not making the law firm partner money required to buy that on lake Lewisville.
I was reading an email today I wrote then about Lawyer1, the girl who taught me to hate SMU.
Thankfully, I was married while surrounded by all of the SMU law girls. Lots of difficult hot/crazy decisions to be made in that lot.
The Hawaiian place?
probably so; can’t pick it out from google earth
it’s mostly a mystery since I seldom got north of Beltline
#1 US market for ice cream is Boston. Apparently, it competes in all kinds of weather.
The mark of a true Bostonian is the consumption of iced coffee year ’round. We’re odd like that.
I worked at Steve’s Ice Cream in a Boston suburb. There was no time of year it wasn’t busy.
We have Rebel ice cream every other day.
There are some disc golf courses within a 15 minute drive here. Maybe I’ll have to pick up a couple discs and go play. I loved disc golf when I was in college.
It’s a good walk that doesn’t hurt,
I’m not drunk- but cash me around 06.30 tomorrow. Im off to work, so dont break the place.
Ill just play myself off stage with this.

Still chuckle after all these years when they accidentally say “crap your hands” when introducing someone to give a speech.
On the plus side they actually say “encore” correctly.
Kids singing “if you’re happy and you know it” is fun, too.
I didn’t realize it was used so much. I’ve mostly heard hakushu.
It’s much too dangerous for you to be doing what you want.
Just finished ‘The Wilds’ on Amazon which ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, which was annoying. But otherwise, I greatly enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting much from what I assumed would be a cheesy all-girls remake of Lord of the Flies, but it wasn’t. I’ll catch the next season when it airs.
I watched it too but I felt like the story could’ve gotten through more by the end.
I expect the researcher’s theory that girls are more civilized is gonna get blown to shit.
Anyone who thinks girls are or would be more civilized is not a girl and has not been raised around girls. There were a lot of moments throughout the series where I was grinding my teeth over their decisions (or lack thereof) but I didn’t think they treated it too unrealistically. It mostly maddened me that they didn’t make a more concerted effort to find fresh water immediately, among other things, without delivering spoilers. Still, it was a vast improvement over some of the other recent series I’ve tried.
Just reading the wiki entry for presidential $1 coins.

The portraits are just awful. Total crap. Washington looks like a ghoul and it goes down hill from there. Some are almost unrecognizable. Reagan looks like a pudgy Chinaman caricature. Then looked up the artist. Ex-Franklin Mint. Completely explains the kitschy hackery.
There’s also a First Spouses series. For the presidents without First Ladies, do they honor the relatives who stepped up for social hosting duties? No, of course not. Just some inanimate features because they couldn’t just leave time period unminted either. Except for Cleveland’s widowhood which gets some random suffragist who has zero connection to the role. What unmitigated checkbox ticking bullshit.
First Spouses
Varina Davis was a 10
So what does that make Melania?
*schwing! *
Huh. I was completely unaware of these. I got a stack of dollar coins out of a stamp machine a couple years ago, and… they’re all Sacagaweas from 2000.
While I sort of appreciate all the playing around with circulating coinage in the last couple decades after many decades of nothing interesting… well, it’s a little late now that nobody uses coins any more.
They’re also coming on too strong with this stuff. It’s hard to keep up with all the programs. Not that I’m really collecting coins anymore, but I wouldn’t know where to start if I wanted to collect a modern series.
I never filled out my state quarters album – missing the last few states.
The reverse of the coins is even worse. The depiction of the Statue of Liberty reminds me of a Check E Cheez token.
Good lord, the spouses’ reverses are awful. Woman on a spiral staircase for Betty Ford and kids wearing Just Say No t-shirts for Nancy Reagan. At least Edith Wilson depicts her taking control of Woodrow after his stroke. Stupid, but accurate.
Not good looks for my pince nez business: Teddy, Woodrow, and Franklin. Jeez, you monocle guys get all the robber baron types and I get the war mongers.
Ah, the Bee
LOL. That no-neck fuck looks like every High School bully from the eighties.
I gotta say, Fang Fang really pegged him as an easy target.

No, literal.

Hey Yusef, I’ve got a few golf discs that I plan to take down to Florida (the Mrs & I are snowbirding for Jan-Mar). I’m not sure if I have a good set to start with – haven’t used them in years (and wasn’t very dedicated at the time). I’d like to pick it up again. What would you recommend as a starter set of discs?
Well crap. Just found another decent place is closing at the end of the year. Pizza place with usually good food. Our goto for date night.
It’s time for California to fall into the Pacific.

I must admit, I am looking forward to a little enjoyment when tribal pseudo governments get called out for the corrupt and racist criminal organizations that they are. After years of griping Wilson is gone. Someday they too will get shanked.
Speaking of Indians… since we’re applying modern sensibilities now, no more glorification of their savagery. Things like Little Big Horn- defense of homeland? Sorry bitches, nope. You’re war criminals now. Suck it.
All my life I’ve seen past color and cared about only content of character, etc.
And now, just in the last few years, these ignorant, ungrateful children are almost succeeding in making me racist.
Well, you are already “racist” by the means of changing the definition. It’s as Orwell predicted, again, and again. It’s demoralizing, but hold fast to what you know is good, and true, and noble. Fortify the monastery of the mind and be true to yourself. The cancer of critical theory and cultural Marxism has metastatized in the institutions and corporations. It seeps insidiously through into everyday life. However, I see so much of American (and British) life that it just can’t touch (yet). Be stoic yet firm, calm yet restless, patient yet belligerent. What am I saying? In short, I require the covfefe.
Mornin’, Glibs!
As a Southerner I’ve always thought Lincoln’s overrated but that’s ridiculous.
Lincoln did not implement racial utopia and was only incremental in improving the lives of non-whites. That’s unacceptable.
lolwut
I can’t wait to see the list of comrades in good standing they come up with. ?
Something tells me that Washington won’t get it.
No, those are existing schools. New names for all.
I can’t wait til they eventually decide they have to rename the city. “Harrisgrad” rolls off the tongue.

I did not win the lottery last night and I have a dentist appointment this morning. ?
Well I at least hope you win at the dentist’s office. Mornin’, Sean.
Mornin’
Mornin’, gentlemen. How much snow so far, Sean?
Mornin’ GT.
Mornin’, UCS.
How’s things with you?
OK. Work has been uncharacteristically quiet. Too quiet. Last night was the Board (virtual) meeting, though, so now that it’s over, my boss may have a new project for me. Or maybe I can get in some “sneak reading.” And you?
Also, on page 23 of 57.
Somehow I’ve managed to solve technical issues I thought I had no idea how to fix. And it wasn’t blind luck. Given that it was just apache configuration, I’m not sure why I was so convinced it was beyond my knowledge. Probably because I’ve been stuck staring at worthless paperwork for so long.
So, around the start of chapter 4 give or take.
Not sure I’m quite that far. They’re about to descend the stairs.
Oh, okay.
NOW I’m at the beginning of Chapter 4. ::crosses fingers for another quiet work day::
I think quiet work days are always something to hope for.
Quite true, but I get bored if I don’t have enough to do. Gotta hide the Nook in a desk drawer and keep one ear on the hallway.
There’s always something to do for me. So I have a skewed perspective. A quiet work day means no one’s running around with their hair on fire.
Seriously.
And that little code freeze over the holidays? Silly me, not for us. Push, push, push! Gonna get interesting when everyone’s taking their holidays.
Snowmageddon isn’t until late afternoon.
Mornin, rhy. We’re getting “light snow showers” this morning. Just a dusting so far, and not predicted to amount to more than an inch or two.
Mornin’.
*waves hi*
No snow until sometime after lunch supposedly.
Off to the dentist.

Sure why not…you are taking the tax monies anyway

I wouldn’t either.
High Guard man bad!!1 He’s dividing the New Systems Commonwealth and spreading anti-vaxxer conspiracy theories, not to mention keeping poor Magog children in cages at the galactic border. We need amnesty now! Unrestricted Magog immigration! No one is illegal!
Long damn day/night. After my normal shift had to come in for an overnight to move a controller’s position (crying covid cause it is only 3 feet from other controllers).
We have a innovative tracon setup with modular slatwall so the operations side was simple…slide on over. The backside we had to gut and rerun cabling.
I am not proud to say I said fuck it for tonight and not dress the cables up.
Zip ties and chill?
Velcro ties, but yeah…once everything came back up and I didn’t need to t/s, my interest in it was a whole lotta bleh.
Good enough for the girls you go out with, as they say.
Beer thirty!
“Nightmare before Christmas: Doctors battle to save Santa’s life in emotional new NHS charity advert”

Yuck…
The real nightmare – those are NHS Doctors. He’s at more risk from them than the disease.
[pushback]There are some really good doctors on the NHS, but they’re usually the consultants and specialists that are walled in behind the bureaucratic gatekeepers and rationing.[/pushback]
It’s always “we can’t use the price system because that will mean only rich people will get healthcare” or something.
It’s because of that two-year-old who wouldn’t wear her mask on the plane. She almost killed Santa.
Speaking of two year olds. Good grief that’s a horrendous story for first thing in the AM.

Flubbed the link
I copy/pasted the text of the link. Weird, but fun. A dude’s gotta work, after all.

Mornin’ All! Skipped to the bottom just to wave and say “Hi”! Got my Danegeld from the one site last night. One of the comments on the card read “Keep on sweeping on!” I larfed.

Homie? Mind the snow this morning.
What snow? /looks outside

Im enjoying the light snowfall with morning/evening beer in hand.
#TALLCANS
Will do!
Fun fact- the Q in Q-Tip (the cotton swab) stands for “quality”. They were originally called “Baby Gays”.
