What’s in store for 2021? It’s really anyone’s guess, but if you’re interested in peering beyond the veil…
I still haven’t made any progress on Leviathan Wakes, despite spending a good amount of the last week doing, frankly, absolutely nothing. And yet… [potential heavy breathing]
Obvious but obligatory link about being “stimulated” this year.
News the whole world can use, kind of. I mean, if you’re into watching the hot mess that is the Olympics, even under the best circumstances.
As for local news, it appears that this gal has scaled back her hours. Hopefully 2021 sees her business pick up some. I’m going to make more of an effort to visit, at least.
Today’s musical choice goes out to Mr. Riven, who I can’t wait to get back to tomorrow. <3
My First First of the new year.
sup’ cuh’ ?
I’m Firsting while Hyperion is back posting in dead threads.
I see you’ve finally emerged from your gay orgy.
We all know what your favorite soup is.
Tres! Sup Man! any Tall Cans today?
I’m in. Carlsberg and Bitburg today. Tall cans!
Founders Centennial IPA,
Cheers!
SMALL CANS! But Im about a dozen in since I got home this morning. Sadly once the Northwestern game is over its back to bed to work tonight.
Happy New Year!
Nice choice! I’ve been splitting tall cans with Lord H lately. Blood Orange Honey was last week.
Tonight’s beer was Dogfish Head Blood Orange IPA (with the black-eyed peas and cornbread of course).
And you rarely, if ever, 1st on another thread than the PM lynx. Since we always have 2 other articles, that means you really only 1st 33% of the time. Not only does that make you a lazy first-er, you clearly have no pride in your work, You deserve everything 2021 has in store for you. Like Kamala.
Broketard is more often horizontal than Camela, so…
This crowd is Brutal today I tells ya!
I left a couple of replies to your disc golf post in the dead thread. I’m still watching the tournament…
I’m 57, and 2 good friends who play far better than me are 66 and 67, never too old,
This 61 year old would love to join you guys, but I’m far away from there these days. Not sure where I’m moving to next, yet.
I’ll bet your within 10 miles of a course, almost anywhere in the World, you can do it!
Dude, I’m as old as you and I’m still playing. GTF out there, bro.
When the new season starts, you’ll see the best in the world, on the hardest courses, I’ll keep you updated
Thnx!
You people don’t deserve me. I’m to the point where I’m just going to leave you to Count Potato and Unciv’s “firsts.”
Please don’t throw us into the briar patch.
Truly we never did anything to deserve you.
I keep thinking tomorrow is Sunday.
Saturday, bro!
“Police have arrested a Wisconsin pharmacist accused of deliberately spoiling 57 vials of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine by taking them out of a fridge and leaving them out overnight before 57 people were given the ‘ineffective’ dose.
Grafton Police said the former employee of the Advocate Aurora Health Hospital in Grafton was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety, adulterating a prescription drug, and criminal damage to property. ”
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9103981/PICTURED-Milwaukee-pharmacist-deliberately-spoiled-57-vials-Moderna-vaccine.html
But why?
I saw that.
“but why”
Typically a nutter of some sort.
“mens rea”
Show me ‘deliberate’.
He apparently did it twice, and returned them to the fridge before anyone noticed.
and you think your president-elect isnt as absent minded?
Joe Biden- your Walgreen’s pharmacist
Putting them back away is what does him in. That’s demonstrating intent to hide what he did. And he did it twice.
motive?
I saw several unmasked, or nose-uncovered, shoppers in the supermarket today. First time I can recall seeing anyone (except young children) unmasked in ages. Perhaps they are using the new year as a jumping-off point for mask noncompliance. SLDs about private property, of course.
I’ve been literally the only unmasked person in the supermarket in the last half dozen times I went, at least.
Not quite #metoo.
The last time I went grocery shopping there was a guy not wearing a mask. We’ll see what happens tomorrow when I shop.
On the NCAAF games, they ran an ad about how it was an unusual and tough year for college sports, especially with no audience, but that “We’ll be back this year.”
Since Fauci and his ilk intend to keep the mask mandates and lockdowns going and have gone so far as to say we MIGHT open at the end of 2022, I assume the NCAAF ad was a subtle drawing of the line in the sand.
I totally miss the “before times,” including dine in service. Screw the gubbinator ! As Lord H pointed out to me, why is it OK to spend hour after hour grocery shopping, but not OK to sit in a restaurant for an hour?
I drove to NOLA this week with my wife just as a last minute getaway. My wife got laughed at for wearing a mask in a LA gas station. I may make LA home when CA transplants ruin TX.
So today is my 30th wedding anniversary, but the wife is under the weather and napping on the couch. We’re staying in (like we been doing for the past 9 months) and binging shows.
I watched the latest episode of the Expanse and think this season is much better than last. More in keeping with the SyFy seasons.
I haven’t seen the latest episode yet, but my husband said the pacing was better. We’ve been frustrated because we want moar Amos
I want more Amos too.
Amos is the most interesting character in a series jammed full of interesting people.
Also, hottest.
Indeed.
And yeah, I guess what prole said too.
Hottest but not prettiest.
Husband and I both refer to Holden as “Space John Snow”
I still remember a review of Magic City making a crack about him being a model turned actor, with acting skills to match.
Given the link between The Expanse and GoT, John Snow is a good comparison.
I had to show Mr. Riven “The Covenant” a while back because I just knew I recognized him from somewhere, but…. where?
It’s a hilarious movie (unintentionally). We got tipsy and had a fab time
LOL & accurate
Reading the books, I always pictured him as black (because “Amos” and “Baltimore”) but they guy they got to play him does a great job with the cheery psychopath bit.
Amos is good, but Camina Drummer (Cara Gee) is the shiz.
Congrats! ? Sorry for the missus though.
I hope your wife gets well soon.
Sorry, I should also wish you a happy anniversary.
Grats!!! We just passed our 18th.
Happy Anniversary!
Congrats Bobarian!
Congrats!
Congrats on your 30th, how many for the missus?
I always wonder, can wedding anniversaries be serial or do we start anew each time?. I’ve been married close to 60 years but this Mrs Fourscore has only been married 46.
Anyway, the best to you and the Missus, hope she feels better and you can get the celebration in properly when the BS is over. Sooner rather than later
So you’re saying you aren’t getting any.
Congratulations on your anniversary!
I think I’ve mentioned what I said to a server who asked me what the secret is to a lasting marriage. I’d like to know what some of you 25-plus year inmates would say.
Learn the following phrases, and when best to use ’em:
“Yes, dear.”
“Of course, dear.”
“You are correct as usual.”
And my favourite:
“How am I supposed to remember your birthday when you never look any older?”
Those should get you started.
+1
Oh boy, how have I not not been a victim in an episode of Snapped?
I’m closing in on 18 years with the missus. My recommendation is…
Don’t try to make her into someone different.
Don’t marry a woman who’s trying to make you into some different.
Make sure she wants a marriage; not a wedding.
Talk about having kids (yes or no) before getting married.
Be polite, even when you disagree.
Be courteous.
Get coffee in the mornings.
Pick up something silly when you’re at the drugstore and bring it home; footies/socks are always good.
Pretend you’re into stuff she’s into.
Don’t listen to your parents or her parents.
Don’t listen to your friends.
“Two against the World”; keep the team strong.
Separate bank accounts.
Trust but verify.
Have a plan. If you’re going out to dinner don’t say, “I dunno where do you wanna go?” Instead tell her what restaurant you want to go to. Women like decisiveness. If she’s not into it, thats okay because you….
Have a “Plan B”.
Take care of yourself mentally and physically. Hygiene.
Eat that pussy.
It’s the two of you. No thing or no person can come between you. Keep the team strong.
My advice. Whatever. Happy New Year.
So very much this. Especially if he’s a guitar player. ; )
And also this.
To me it seems like two separate bank accounts means you are planning for the marriage to end. On the other hand my brother in law spends like a drunken sailor, do I can understand why my sister keeps a separate account.
We did “yours, mine, and ours,” the last being for joint household expenses. Just hit 25 years two days ago.
We do a variation on this; we each have checking and savings, then joint checking and savings, rounded out with various investment/retirement accounts.
Works for us.
I’ve always done it this way. Never had a fight about money.
I just had the wife open a separate account because of some issues we had with PayPal. I don’t want those fuckers having access to our money – if she wants to have an account for that purpose, it has to be separate.
To me, two separate bank accounts means no resentment or arguments over “You spent $3,200 on a vintage Rickenbacker?!”
Or, “You bought two duplexes in Cleveland, OH?”
We technically have separate accounts, but that’s just to segregate our fun money from everything else. She has full access to mine, I have full access to hers.
I can’t imagine what a PITA financial/retirement planning would be if we each got our own incomes into our own accounts and had to negotiate how much we paid one another to equal things out.
These are interesting responses. I like to hear how different couples handle their finances.
I went to a wedding for a member of my crew, just before Covid Times. We talked about finances recently. They just bought their second home together, after selling the first one they bought before marriage. He charges her for rent. That’s just weird to me.
I manage the money, because I’m better at it. That’s it. There are many discussions when there expensive items to purchase. But for day to day living, we both do what we want and it’s not a problem because nothing is hidden. I’ve tried to budget, but it never works. Fortunately, she no extravagant habits. Everything is for the kids… or me.
As far as weddings go, she laughs at people who piss away a down payment on a house for an event. “I give their marriage 18 months.”
“Two against the World”; keep the team strong.
I like this, and I worry that my wife will not take an empty nest very well.
He charges her for rent. That’s just weird to me.
Yeah, and it’s not far from many of the separate finance arrangements. To me, a lot of these arrangements either seem to be trying to paper over financial fights that need to happen (because the spouses aren’t on the same page) or are woefully shortsighted.
We approach it from a “we before I” mentality. We have a pool of money from all our income sources. We divy it up based on our budget. Some goes to her and some goes to me after we take care of the family needs and wants now and in the future. Easy peasy.
My wife did have her own account in her home country until the bank dropped us thanks to FATCA.
We have separate accounts. Mrs Fourscore does what she wants and helps some family. I pay for everything, manage the money. I looked at her bank statement recently and was amazed at how much she has in a savings account that doesn’t pay any interest (to speak of). We are fortunate in that our needs are little, we are comfortable financially so it’s not a point of contention.
OTOH she continues to give me orders off Home Shopping, I just accept that she isn’t going to stores and doing more. I don’t complain ’cause I do the same.
We have had 3 accounts for 35 years — mine, hers, and ours.
Our paychecks are deposited into our personal accounts. We both transfer 80-90% of the paycheck into the joint account. All joint bills are paid from the joint account.
We each have multiple expensive hobbies. These are paid out of our personal accounts. I don’t care that she has 5 sewing machines, a quilting machine, 4 or 5 spinning wheels, three looms, and god-only-knows how much fabric and fiber she has acquired. It’s paid out of her money, and I don’t care.
Just like she doesn’t care about all the brewing equipment, the golf gear, or the rifles that were paid from my account.
It works quite well for us.
Deadthreaded:
Got an email from Gunbroker with the biggest sellers of different types of guns in December. This was the biggest selling semi auto shotgun:

Tells you something about the mindset of American gun owners. And it’s not pretty.
Holy Shit! glad I carry 20 round Mags for the 590m, those things will kill a Man,
I love that you can get a 3 or a 5 pack.
I missed that, Wow,
TS12 video
I was intrigued by the gun.
Tells you something about the mindset of American gun owners. And it’s not pretty.
Dumbasses lack the foresight to blow their COVID funny money in a $1500 shotgun without realizing there’s no ammo to shoot in it?
https://www.outdoorlimited.com/shotgun-ammo/12-gauge-ammo/?cid=635&stock=1&search_text=&per_row=20&sortBy=8&mode=list#
#4 Buck 2 3/4 inch shells
#00 Buck 2 1/4 inch shells
in stock.
Slugs in stock as well.
I picked 200 shells of 20 gauge #4 buck.
Going to the range and shoot a few tomorrow.
Yeah, spoke too soon. $2/round is still pretty stiff.
How triggering.
Wait, you mean if you posted pix of your hubs I’d go straight?
BOOM!
HNY Tonio!
Maybe turn a straight …
Yeah, straight to his jock, maybe!
Have you been stalking my bearcake photography?
Nooooo… but if I had a link, I could 😉
Now this … THIS … is how to correctly wear (several) face masks:

No.
Just say no to face diapers no matter where worn.
Damn that guy’s got some pearly whites and, oh yeah, the stripper looking girl ain’t half bad.
The picture would be better without the dude and the ink. And the masks.
After throwing the vegetables into the air and reading the patterns they form, the 65-year-old says they showed the pandemic will begin to pass by June and the world’s population will become kinder as a result.
Seems legit.
Surely, Bob was planning on using his money in some way. Maybe he intended to spend the money on something else. Maybe he planned to put it in a savings account for a bank to loan out for a long-term investment. Either way, Bob loses an opportunity that he valued more than giving it away.
The Broken Windows Fallacy was written a hundred years ago in a language no one can understand.
Well Bob still got his 600 bucks…….
Isn’t that a bit like a mugger stealing your wallet or purse, then pulling a twenty out of it and handing it back to you, while saying “Buy yourself something pretty” ?
Yes, but you’re just happy he didn’t shoot you.
I was in reference to “This” Bob, not the story, except Bob….
If she’d made that prediction before the vaccines that’ll take a while to completely roll out came out I’d be more impressed. Kudos to her for reading the news though.
Unfortunately she’s German, so this means we’ll be full-on Logan’s Run within the year.
I’m guessing a lot more of this and this.
I like how vandals get a shrug while party promoters get crippling fines.
So George was beaten up by leprechauns? What shameful racism!
And is there anything more shameful than being a Stasi informer?
They are one reason among many that this shit is never, ever going to end.
We’re going to start seeing children’s books and cartoons that praise snitching as a noble act instead of a betrayal of friends/classmates.
While it’s true that a witness to a real crime has a moral obligation (in my view) to speak up to authorities and to testify in court if needed, that is certainly not the case for mask non wearing, or for parking your trash bins too far forward on your property.
How neighbor-informants justify their own interference while hating Snowden for whistleblowing is beyond me.
The Stasi Kids
I watched Sound of Music last night… The early part of that movie was chilling. The way that the collaborators proudly held themselves out there. The way that the kid got caught up in all of it and couldn’t break away from it, despite dooming his girlfriend. The way that everybody went along with it, knowing full well that it would end their lives as they knew it once it finally hit. All very familiar.
We watched that too. “We make it our business to know everything about you”. Like Facebook.
Our furniture shopping adventure turned into a MISadventure. Well, only inconvenient. Furniture store closed early at 3:00 (instead of 5:00) without warning because the weather sucks*. We got there at 3:10. Put my steel-toed work boots on for nothing.
*I love snow. Lots of snow. Especially on New Year’s Day (woulda been better on Christmas). Snow driving is a sport. I never go out. But the second we get accumulating snow, I’m out driving in the snow because AWESOME.
Donuts in frozen parking lots FTW!
Yeah but steel toes are horrible in snow.
Whycome? I’ve always found them to be fantastic.
Real steel gets very cold after a while, and then my toes go numb. The carbon toes are fine.
Watching the Alabama/Notre Dame game.
I was wondering how does Alabama stay dominant year after year? Money is a factor; Nick Saban and his staff make plenty. They have state of the art equipment and facilities.
But other colleges pay top dollar for their football teams too. What’s the difference? Is it just that the top high school players choose the top school?
It just doesn’t quite make sense that Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Notre Dame, with an occasional Florida or LSU appearance make the top four over and over.
What am I missing?
A vast, hidden pay system.
More seriously, it’s a combination of things. There’s no draft or salary cap, so dynasties are easier to maintain in college football. Better coaches and training staff do help. Plenty of cash exchanging hands behind the scenes. Also, many high school kids want to go to the cool place, even if they ride the bench.
That said, Bama was in decline 20 years ago. Miami was a dynasty. USC looked unbeatable. Ohio State was just coming out of a dark period. Clemson was not on the radar. Notre Dame was a has been. It feels like it has been forever with the same handful of teams, but things do change over time.
Wow, 20 years ago it was really different. I was going off of memory and was a bit off…
End of season rankings :
Miami
Nebraska
Colorado
Oregon

I’m missing display and sound. Thanks, Spectrum!
Yeah, OK. ?
All the events will be Japan vs Belarus vs Sweden vs Central African Republic apparently.
The Chive seems to be getting a clue, putting out galleries CMF (Certified Mask Free TM):

How about certified ink and body mutilation free galleries? A piece of fabric is far less annoying, but everyone has their fetish.
By body mutilation do you mean fake tits, piercings, or both?
Fake tits are not always obvious …
Hmmm… good fake tits are allowed.
good fake tits
Oxymoron
My glasses are so thick I can’t tell the difference. Bring ’em on!
Certified Mask Free TM
YES! Fuck masks. Figuratively, not literally. You people think I’m weird enough already, and contrary to popular belief I do have standards.
#1 looks unhappy.
I like #2. She looks genuinely happy. There was no one at the bar last night that looked like her, but looking at her picture made me think I should have hung out until midnight. Oh well.
#5 looks unhappy.
#11 is plotting to kill someone.
#20 – why bother with that top?
I like #24.
#25 should be happier. She’s got a drink, she’s on the beach.
I think including the brunette in #28 in the threesome would be dangerous.
I like #31.
Titties.
Masks have supplanted silicone as the mark of the devil.
Yes.
Well, this is a bizarre way to start the year: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XxJPad-D0bs
I tapped out a few minutes through. Too much WTF for me.
It may be 2021, but it appears that somethings will continue. Here’s the link for the Friday/Saturday Zoom/Happy Hour/commiseration fest. I’ll kick it off at 20:00 Eastern
I’ll be there.
I guess I should get some food and get some work done around the house first. Today has been…. lazy.
Oh Fun,
Thank you Neph?
Riven, good music link.
And cute doggie photo!
Danke! Mr. Riven took it because he knows I miss her!
Yes, that too.
**curtsy**
OT I need to thank you Riven, you helped me get started writing for Glibs, and it’s been a fun 4 years,
Aw, hey! You’re welcome!
I’m constantly impresed by our community here. Lots of kind folks helping each other, plus the breadth of experiences and knowledge everyone has. Just tremendous!
🙂
“The world’s population will become kinder and more tolerant as a direct result of the pandemic and governments will be more beholden to the will of their people.”
*outright prolonged laughter*

All I’m seeing is the exact opposite of all of that.
*throws asparagus into the air and observes fallen patter*
Sure let’s go with that.
Yet more Friday Funbags.

Yay for no face diapers.
I like #6.
A couple potential GlibFit entries there.
governments will be more beholden to the will of their people
Stop it. You’re killing me.
Comrade, it is people’s will to be controlled!
Rice burners
Now my Kittah is walking around aimlessly, crying out, she’s been doing it all afternoon, do cats look for a place to die?
She is 22 years old,
I hope it’s just that she misses Bella. Give her lots of petting!
She Sleeps, today she just walks, and walks, poor Kittah..
They hide weakness. She’s probably upset about something? 22 is pretty old though.
They sure do. My girls went so suddenly last year.
All the best for your kitty, Yusef.
Funny enough I lost a pair of litter maters within 6 months of each other.
I’ve got a new pair that I hope will be healthier and longer lived. It took a while before I was able to get a new pair. But as usual somebody had a bunch of kittens so what else was I going to do?
Sorry.
22 years is a good run for a cat.
Let me add something that just hit my YouTube feed. It should tick boxes for Glibs of all kinds, lovers of breasts, Japan and Japanese, anime, figurines, plastic models and guns…
https://youtu.be/u31IVrAW0to
I’m still chuckling.
Nice tits.
Though, as a self-taught tit expert, I’m skeptical of the G-cup claim (unless Japanese bra sizes are different). I’m saying 32D, maybe a DD but that’s a stretch.
I believe Japan uses its own size system. More smaller sizes.
When are you going to go and meet up with Straffin-san to get drunk in a parking lot?
When the Olympics finish I’ll go back.
Now would be a great time to consider permanent relocation.
A divorce would be in my future if that happened.
Bra size
So just about the only thing Korea and Japan can agree upon is bra sizing.
Nice to know that tits can rise above politics.
If rib cage is 32″ and bust 39″ then sure.
A 7″ difference just seems excessive looking at her. Could be the angle or I could be losing my edge though.
Was expecting Gunpla Meli.
OT: YouTube served me up Tono-ben videos.

I can sort of hear the accent, and not just when emphasizing or highlighting the dialect! My ear is terrible so I’m kind of surprised.
Interesting mix of kansai and Nagoya dialect.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mino_dialect
Funny enough as two of my friends are from each area. That said my Nagoya friend speaks standard. Biggest issue with Kansai is the pitch is quite different. You should be able to distinguish that pretty easily too.
Also I’m not a city boy so I really enjoyed my two day stay in Gifu. Highly recommend.
I think I could spend ten lifetimes playing tourist and still not scratch the surface. I’m almost ready to rent a car (outside of the largest cities).
I did Takayama and Shirakawago.

Nice!
Keep pushing, stupid
Dr. Anthony Fauci said it’s possible that COVID-19 vaccines will become mandatory in order to travel to other countries or attend school.
“Everything will be on the table for discussion,” Fauci, who will be chief medical adviser to President-elect Joe Biden, told Newsweek.
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases stressed that it’s “not up to me to make a decision,” but added that “these are all things that will be discussed [under the Biden administration].”
“I’m not sure [the COVID-19 vaccine] going to be mandatory from a central government standpoint, like federal government mandates,” Fauci said, though he added that he’s “sure” that some individual institutions will require the shot.
Something something the more you tighten your grip
Require all welfare recipients (this includes FedGov workers) to get the vaccine and watch the push against mandatory vaccination go into high gear.
I’m not sure Fauci will swing from a lamppost.
Mandatory huh?

A case is 24 cans
The United States has reached a sobering milestone to mark the new year.
On Friday, the first day of 2021, the U.S. recorded its 20 millionth confirmed coronavirus case since the beginning of the pandemic.
That’s according to numbers from Johns Hopkins University, which reported 20,037,736 cases and 346,687 deaths in the U.S. on at the time of publication on Friday. Over 83 million coronavirus cases have been confirmed world wide.
The U.S. reached 10 million cases on Nov. 9. In less than two months, the country doubled its total number of infections.
The nation accounts for nearly a quarter of all infections in the world and a fifth of all deaths.
——-
At the current rate it would take years to vaccinate enough Americans to get the pandemic under control, according to NBC News.
At the current rate, how long would it take for everyone in America to die?
Longer than it would take for the emergence of open violent rebellion?
Considering the reported “case rate” is something like 10% of the actual infection rate, that means 200,000,000 people have already had it, or ~60% of the population. Isn’t that more than enough for herd immunity? Yet, we’re going to forcibly vaccinate EVERYONE.
2021 is sooooooooooo different from 2020.
I’ve said it before… I think 2021 is going to be worse than 2020.
USA! USA! WE’RE NUMBER 1!!!!!!!
At the current rate of vaccination six months ago, Americans will be never be vaccinated. This is just retarded level of journalism.
We would have had herd immunity by now if the dumbasses in charge hadn’t violated the laws and federal and state constitutions. They are probably causing more deaths by dragging it out.
Boy, we sure flattened that curve, didn’t we?
“confirmed”
Also a meaningless statistic.
Hm. I expected a “grim” milestone. “Sobering” is a new take, I guess.
Did they take out the “cases” that were additional positive tests from the same person? Did they count antibody tests as “new cases” even if the same person had tested positive (and been counted) previously? Did they incorrectly throw in “suspected/probable” cases?
Did they remember to remove the deaths that were things like car accidents and gunshot wounds? Did they adjust them to account for the deaths of octogenarian people with advanced lung cancer, emphysema, and COPD who were actively dying and on hospice care? Did they remove the “COVID deaths” of people who had it and got over it several months ago and then died from something completely different?
Had a good day today despite the shitty weather. We were able to traverse the trails around the town and see/learn some interesting things. I observed a fair amount of mask-wearing in the rain (and I noticed a good bit of mask pollution…). Have fun waterboarding yourselves. To close the day we ordered personal pizzas. The lady got one with pickles. I question that judgement but she said it was good. I got something called the “Ron Swanson”. As you could guess, lots of meat. Now chilling in our lodging watching a movie. *Pours glass of chardonnay* Cheers and let the good times roll.
Pelosi’s house vandalized…

2021 is going to be a lot of fun.
Yep, fun as in even more ruined lives. Fuck Pelosi and the shitshow that is congress. She vandalized our lives and country.
lol I was expecting something uplifting and then I clicked the link. I should have known better.

About that alleged absentee fraud in Georgia…
“Cobb County”
Umm…what? Did anyone even question Cobb?
Now do the same for Fulton and Dekalb. Get the same resukts and I will agree wverything is good.
Cobb had a bigger vote shift than either of those two (12% swing to Biden) – wouldn’t that make it more suspicious?
Not to me. I expect any fraud to be in large numbers of votes in areas that didnt have much to to shift.
So that’s what was said in PA about Philly – but that isn’t where Biden picked up the win.
PA is not GA. Everything questionable I have heard in GA revolves around Fulton Co.
In PA, the opposite. Both nay be bullshit, but it reminds me of the HCQ trials last spring that used high doses and didnt include zinc.
Not buying Pence on that. But anyway extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
“If Pence is arrested, @SecPompeo will save the election. Pence will be in jail awaiting trial for treason. He will face execution by firing squad. He is a coward & will sing like a bird & confess ALL.”

This move could be a deliberate distraction.
Or Wood could be crazier than a shithouse rat.
Time will tell.
The art of war is the art of deception. And this is crazy enough to make me consider that it is some sort of feint. Of course I don’t have a baseline for him to compare because I didn’t know of him until the smirking catholic kid case.
He represented Richard Jewell in libel suits against CNN, WaPo, etc.
WTF?
This makes Alex Jones look sane.
Alex Jones is remarkably sane.
He has real beliefs about things like freedom but he does a character on his show.
I remember his “aliens and the government communicating with them using hallucinogens” bit on the Joe Rogan podcast.
That guy is not helping.
Lin Wood is caca for cuckoo puffs.

Lolol
I assume ‘cunte’ is still allowed.
Most of the congresscritters were probably assigned that designation at birth.
Totally not commies.
“Big Tech is at it again.
Facebook has shut down the ad account for the Georgia Battleground Fund, a joint fundraising committee for NRSC, @Perduesenate

This is unacceptable with only 4 days to Election Day.

Hit the nail on the head there. I’m a believer!

Seems legit.
HM inbound?
Is comedy dead? My wife and I have been sitting around watching reruns of the office and I noted that there hasn’t been a comedy TV show since the Office that I have enjoyed.
Did you check the thermostat?
Depends on what you’re looking for. It’s Always Sunny is still fairly solid, Parks and Recreation found it’s footing in the second season, the Good Place was very solid, as was Schitt’s Creek. Ash vs. Evil Dead was a solid continuation on the horror/comedy movies it continued. I’ve been pretty open about my love for Community as well.
Re: Ash vs The Evil Dead,
The fight at the sperm bank in the last season was quite possibly the best thing that I ever watched. I laughed so hard that I literally hurt the next day.
The Good Place?
Peep show.
Speaking of movies which probably could not be made today…
I watched “The World of Henry Orient” last night. It’s worth watching if for no other reason than as a cultural artifact; a glimpse into a mesmerizing long gone world.
The simple fact of two fourteen year old girls running around Manhattan, unsupervised, is not something you’d be likely to see today. Prep school girls, running and jumping and acting like wild indians on the sidewalks of New York, while engaged in (mostly) harmless pre-sexual fantasies would require some sort of in depth gender awareness exposition evidently unnecessary in the ’60s.
Watch it, and see what you think.
The simple fact of two fourteen year old girls running around Manhattan, unsupervised
Jeffrey Epstein sure seemed to find ’em.
It’s got Peter Sellers, which is a problem.
Peter Sellers is hilarious. Top five actor; all-time.
The moment he appears on screen as Dr. Strangelove is where his career takes a turn and he starts bringing movies to a screeching halt. Ralph Richardson and John Mills are great in The Wrong Box, but then there are Sellers’ two or three scenes….
Sellers could certainly be a ham. And Strangelove is the prime example of that. But Clouseau, though. And Pearly Gates.
The Mouse That Roared.
That, of course, was before Strangelove. As were I’m Alright Jack and Two-Way Stretch.
But the fact that he was chewing up the scenery in Dr. Strangelove makes it that much more bizarre and IMO, fits the movie’s tone perfectly.
Yeah. Kubrick let him run rampant. There was a reason.
I used to run around the streets of lower Manhattan unsupervised as a young teen (late 80s). Mom would drive us to the Brewster train station in the morning
and we’d call her to come get us when we got back.
Depends. I see gaggles of fourteen-year-old girls running around the city all the time. But they’re probably not the children of suburban helicopter parents. More likely immigrant kids or other locals who don’t buy into the helicopter crap.
It’s got Peter Sellers, which is a problem.
A problem for you, anyway. As you wish.
I try to be steadfastly oblivious to actors outside of their roles. I don’t care what they say or do, with whom they do it, where they live, whether they are assholes to work with… None of it. Not on camera = don’t care.
I recently watched Roman Polanski’s “Pirates”. Walter Matthau was in it, but that wasn’t enough to make me like it. Roman Polanski’s crimes, real or imagined, weren’t enough to make me dislike it. It just wasn’t a very good movie, in my opinion.
This. It’s why I refuse to pay any attention to football or baseball players when they are not on the field. I am not gambling on them, so I don’t give a shit about anything other than what they are doing to entertain me. Same with actors and writers.
Mostly, knowing that crap just ruins their work for me.
Roman Polanski is not really that much worse than the baseline level of degeneracy that has permeated the entertainment industry since, well, forever. Throughout history, actors and musicians were considered very low-class people, for good reason, IMO. Trying to find a person in Hollywood that hasn’t engaged in some sort of despicable behavior is like trying to find a virgin in a brothel.
Re: Leviathan Awakes
The Expanse is the best SciFi TV in a very, very long time. Westworld was good before it jumped the shark. This season is giving me what I came to the show for, beautiful sweeping spacescapes and plots that have stakes on the species/system/galactic level, well-written characters (Holden could be considered slightly Mary Sue-ish but most of the time he is just in the wrong place at the wrong time). Last season was a bit of a letdown, with it amounting to not much more than a bad guy comes to town western, but there were some interesting elements, like the fact that Naomi was physically incapable of living on a planet creating some tension and interesting future consequences for her and Holden’s relationship.
I luv the TV show. Anyone have an opinion on the books? I have heard the the show hews closely to the books but are they worth reading?
The broad strokes of the plot are pretty close. I like them, I have read up through fook five, it stopped at the end of the last season. They are much more descriptive about the belters, making them taller and much more gangly, what with the living in low to microgravity for many generations, than they are depicted on the show. Chrisjen Avasarala is a bigger A-hole in the books, which is great, I like her character in both media. They are fairly easy, fun reads, but the show thus far has followed them pretty closely.
Nice. I love her character.
In the before times I did all my reading during my commute and during lunch, which meant I could plow through a dozen or more doorstoppers a year.
In the new age, I can’t seem to find any time to read. I try some reading in bed but of course that’s not more than a couple pages at a time. I simply can’t book time to read at home for some reason.
So… I want to read these, but I have no idea when I can get to them.
It is funny, I have not had a lot of work over the last couple of years (thank goodness for my military pension) so I have had loads of time, but I could not be bothered to read. Now that I am working, I am reading more, it is a little odd.
Right now I am reading Gaiman’s ‘American Gods’ and I recommend it. That is one where the show and the book diverge markedly.
The book is great.
I’ve read it. Kind of meh for me, TBH. Haven’t seen the show.
The show is good. The book is somewhat better. It’s one of those books that are better when read to you.
