IFLA: The “Busy Skies” Edition of the Horoscope for the Week of May 2

by | May 2, 2021 | IFLA | 43 comments

This week is way on the “feast” side of the spectrum, with all the planets getting involved with something, and lots of transitions between the various alignments indicating swift, sequential events.

The week begins with Jupiter and Mars facing each other across from the sun, indicating hard power in service to the state.  Mars shifts from an alignment with Jupiter to one with Saturn on Tuesday, indicating that that’s the day either that the aforementioned hard-power demonstration ends, or the day that the metaphoric (or possibly literal) axe falls.  In any case, wear a helmet on Tuesday.  Wednesday gives rise to another planetary duo engaging in a Saturn-to-Jupiter shift, this time the Earth and the Moon.  It indicates something very bad will happen at home, but that you’ll have recovered by Friday (or alternatively, someone else will have taken your place by then, but let’s not dwell on that possibility.)  Also on Wednesday, there’s an alignment of Mars – Sol – Mercury, with Venus in opposition.  So in this fight between love and war, or female and male or green v. red (or copper v. iron) the advantage will be on the spear and shield side.

This week’s cards are highly favorable.  We’ve never drawn so many upright before.

Taurus:  Knight of Swords – Skill, bravery, capacity, defense, address, enmity, wrath, war, destruction, opposition, resistance, ruin

Gemini:  Queen of Coins – Opulence, generosity, magnificence, security, liberty.

Cancer:  2 of Wands – Riches, fortune, magnificence, physical suffering, disease, chagrin, sadness, mortification.  Basically, being dissatisfied with what you’ve accomplished.

Leo:  The Chariot – Succour, providence, war, triumph, presumption, vengeance, trouble

Virgo:  2 of Coins – Gaiety, recreation, news and messages in writing, obstacles, agitation, trouble, embroilment.

Libra:  The Fool – Folly, mania, extravagance, intoxication, delirium, frenzy, bewrayment.

Scorpio:  The World – Assured success, recompense, voyage, route, emigration, flight, change of place.

Sagittarius:  3 of Coins reversed – Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.

Capricorn:  6 of Wands – Triumph, great news, hope,

Aquarius:  Justice – Equity, rightness, probity, executive, triumph of the deserving side in law

Pisces: Page of Coins – Application, study, scholarship, reflection, news, management.

Aries:  4 of Cups reversed – Suspense, delay, opposition.

Road trip! I hope it’s to some place scenic and mask-mandate-less.

I hope it’s not a permanent relocation. Moving sucks. 🙁

Sagittarius: 3 of Coins reversed – Mediocrity, puerility, pettiness, weakness.

That should serve me well for my project next week at work.

Now onto making me a smoked stuffed pork loin.

    ?

I’m pretty conflicted on this one.

Sorry Not Adahn, off topic already. Anyone want to buy a low-mileage Chevy? Chevyland Nebraska is auctioning off everything after the attraction closes.

    I’m so confused.

If there’s a morning links and it’s missing from the > and < links on the side… did it really happen?

    • westernsloper

      The arrow squirrels are afoot.

    • Mojeaux

So glad I’m not the only one who noticed.

Continuing from the missed morning thread. When I was a wee pup looking for apartments, I’d gravitate towards the ones which said No Section 8 in the classifieds. Both avoiding the Section 8 people and the sort of apartment complexes that allowed Section 8 (almost always older and more run down and in not so nice or convenient neighborhood).

    • westernsloper

I know a former landlord that looked to rent to the section 8 folks. He said it was a guaranteed rent payment and he did not have to maintain the property as much as he would have with folks who paid rent with their own money.

      • Gustave Lytton

Imagine that. Market segmentation gives opportunities to both buyers and sellers.

    • Toxteth O'Grady

      Rrrrracist! j/k

I would like my landlord/s to know that I vote against rent control at every opportunity, but I don’t want to start a conversation about it either.

  13. Nephilium

A good time was had by all yesterday. Big crowds in Cleveland, people wandering and mingling without masks at one event.

Wound up back at Hansa drinking under the watchful eye of Boris by the end of the night with new acquaintances who also loved the place.

Lazy day today with a bike ride planned to get dinner later.

    • westernsloper

? Roasting some chicken bones to make a bone broth. I am on a Ramen kick the past week or two. I figure if I add enough protein to it it cancels out the noodles.

      • Sean

        Needs some spicy peppers. ?

    • Gustave Lytton

Is that the compact carry? Sure is purty. Kicking myself for not picking up the carry and subcompact and an ARX100 now.

      No grill for me today.

      • Sean

        Regular compact.

    Where is everyone, hung over?

naw, two threads behind: they must be having caching obstacles too.

    • rhywun

      Never change, AP News.

    • trshmnstr the terrible

It’s Progressive Era 2: Woke boogaloo. Rather than being protestantized, the younger generation has now been progtestantized.

  15. Not Adahn

Lily LOVES the taste of whiskey.

I try not to be judgmental, but three months old is way too young to develop a drinking habit.

    • Toxteth O'Grady

      Teething?

      • Not Adahn

        Not yet.

  16. westernsloper

Now I want some pork belly.

  17. Aloysious

    Scorpio can’t be right.

It doesn’t mention getting metaphorically kicked in the taint.
