Now that’s a sign I wish I saw more often than the stupid lib signs I see on the lawns of people that hope the signs will deter the marxist black outfits when they show up to burn and pillage.

You fuckers let that the idiot asshats in Washington B.C. convince your Gus Ferrot and Kirk Cousins were quality quarterbacks…

      • Draw Me Like One of Your Tulpae, Jack

In my mind, if you score 30 points in the NFL, you should win the fuckin’ game. The O did their part.

      • TARDis

Having a really awesome defense that can contain the enemy in their half of the gridiron in lieu of a competent offense is a strategy. Not a great one, but a strategy nonetheless. I take it their defense is not so great. I sorta miss giving a shit about football, but not really. I kind of helps to not care when your (my) team is the Falcons.

      • Draw Me Like One of Your Tulpae, Jack

They scored 30 points and lost the game. I mean, fuckin-a.

Reposting from the suddenly dead thread.

Students die-in on Pentacrest, protesting the ‘perpetual state of stress’ caused by UI’s lax COVID rules

The die-in protest was organized by Campaign to Organize Graduate Students (COGS), the union that represents graduate student workers at the university. Protesters laid down on the Pentacrest’s sidewalk, as COGS members drew chalk outlines of their bodies.

“COGS is here to demand better COVID policies across campus. Things like vaccine and mask mandates as well as creating alternatives for teaching and learning online, other things that will save lives, prevent disease,” said Caleb Klipowicz, a doctoral student in Sociocultural Anthropology.

    Klipowicz led everyone in chants.

“What do we want!” he shouted.

    “Mask mandates!” they replied.

    “When do we want it?”

    “Now!”

“And if we don’t get it, shut it down!” Klipowicz said.

I could see someone kicking this fuck down an escalator.

    • Zwak, jack off, all trades

I would ask them the same question I ask of our local universities: how many students have died of COVID? What are their names? How many Professors, and what are their names? This should be on the top of any protester’s demands and changes, flags and posters. They should have a “Justice for Professor X, who died” or somesuch message.

But they don’t, because there are none.

        Grad students my ass.

      • rhywun

        Grad students my ass.

Why not? More education only seems to encourage this stuff these days.

      • Zwak, jack off, all trades

Eh, grad students are working on either their master’s or Ph.D. The level of reasoning says, to me at least, that these people are too stupid and ill-educated to be at that point. But you are right, the higher the education, the more BS people believe in.

      • trshmnstr the terrible

The level of reasoning says, to me at least, that these people are too stupid and ill-educated to be at that point.

As I’ve discovered through mucho exposure to grad students, PhDs, JDs, MS degree holders, etc., There are differences between academic success, intelligence, and wisdom.

You can get through many grad programs these days without any intelligence or wisdom, because there are many grad level classes that are the same “fill in the blank” bullshit you get in 5th grade. I took a couple of grad level education school classes during law school (for a variety of reasons, and they were actually interesting and helpful at some level), but they were not rigorous at all. Almost 100% group projects and completion grade stuff. An exam with a few multiple choice and an essay to differentiate the A from the A- from the B+, but that was it as far as needing to absorb and retain principles in order to apply them in a testing environment. The classes were structured like classes I had taken in middle school. With just a modicum of diligence and a Jr. High reading comprehension level, you can get your MA or PhD in education. “Grad level” intelligence not required. Wisdom definitely not required.

The more interesting difference is between intelligence (pattern matching) and wisdom (a discriminating eye applied to the matched patterns based on experience). I was in night law school, but I took a few day classes toward the end to speed things up a semester. One that I took was bankruptcy law. I saw a lot of intelligent children (yes, children… many had never lived on their own or paid a bill from their own paycheck) who didn’t understand the basics of what happens when you don’t pay your electric bill. They could absorb all they needed to pass the exam from the textbook, but they didn’t know the first thing about how people got into the situation of needing to file for bankruptcy, nor any of the tactics to avoid such a drastic step. There are more then a few bankruptcy lawyers from that class who jumped from living off their parents’ generous stipend to living off of their high lawyer income. They don’t know the first thing about poverty, living paycheck to paycheck, etc., but they’re cranking out bankruptcy petitions like an assembly line, happy to take what little money those poor folks have left. Great profit centers for the law firm, but horrible counselors for their clients, precisely because they lack wisdom.

I’m guessing that somewhere out there, some 2LT or junior NCO has briefed an OPORD where the first action is to notify the Opfor of an impending attack. I wish I could be a fly on the wall when it happens.

Hope everyone at HH is having/had a fabulous day.

I gotta admit, I wasn’t expecting this reaction to the mob at the border.

    • Zwak, jack off, all trades

      Huh, was not expecting that.

    • creech

Someone asked earlier how the 13,000 Haitians got from Jamaica to the U.S. border, and who transported them across the water. The newspaper today says that “many” of them are Haitians who left Haiti in 2010 after the earthquake and went to South American countries where they’ve been until recently. Still, how did they get from Brazil or wherever to Mexico in the last few weeks? Do “journalists” have inquiring minds these days? [dumb question, I know].

    • rhywun

This is what the world has come to. Buckle up, it’s not going to get any better.

    • Akira

Good. It’s useful for people to see that the Leftist concern over “disparate impact” goes out the fucking window the minute it conflicts with another policy.

Show me a Leftist “principle”, and I’ll show you how they’ve quickly and quietly discarded it when it’s inconvenient for them.

  7. UnCivilServant

I’m angry, I probably shoudn’t communicate with anyone. Coming within a hair’s bredth of cussing out an obnoxious step-relative is no good way to wrap up a road trip.

But, I’ve dropped off my dad, and tomorrow I drive home.

    • Mojeaux

I actually can’t imagine you getting angry at all, much less to the point of cussing someone out.

I’m sorry. Adrenaline is a little nauseating.

      • UnCivilServant

Most of the time, I have a very phlegmatic personality.

I know which factors contributed. Some are biochemical (we just drive for ten and a half hours) others are social (I don’t need an unsolicited medical ramble about skin conditions from a raving covidiot who was driving very poorly and is going to get into a major accident from her inability to keep her hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.)

    • Gender Traitor

I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. I hope you can relax enough to get a good night’s sleep, and may you have a low-stress, decompressing drive home. Please be safe! (Just a request – I wouldn’t dream of telling you what to do! ?)

      • UnCivilServant

I am working on the first part, though tiredness may force the second. Tomorrow I have to return the rental car, make sure mine is gassed up, then get across New Jersey as uneventfully as possible.

Oh well. I’m sure every news outlet can milk another week or two of front-page headlines out of this.

Flood basalts have occurred several time sin history after a large meteorite strike, and after Pangea started breaking apart. These events last for several million years and the rift volcanoes release unfathomable amounts of lava.

A small series of flood basalts in Washington laid down over three vertical miles of lava and some flows from central Washington flowed into the Pacific Ocean.

It seems that the SMOD can be part of a team.

What a difference new appliances make. We have been slowly upgrading the kitchen and last purchase was to replace the 18 year old dishwasher. “Oh…so it isn’t supposed to sound like an industrial metal grinder when running?”

    • Akira

Nice. My dishwasher is the kind where you basically have to scrub them clean already; it essentially just saves you the labor of soaping them up and rinsing them.

In the past couple months, we bought a new fridge, microwave, and (best of all) a Maytag convection oven with glasstop range. I’m not a fan of the gratuitous electronic gizmos they put on everything these days (seems like gadgetry for gadgetry’s sake) but it’s nice to upgrade from the early 2000’s models that were in this house when I moved in.

The dishwasher is next on the replacement list.

      • Ownbestenemy

Yeah we pay attention to what gadgets come with. Most we look for function, quality, parts warranty and looks. We plan on leaving them as selling point but also what to enjoy using them.

      • Akira

Yea, seems like moving major appliances with you is more of a pain in the ass than it’s worth.

When we moved the fridge in, we had to take the front door off AND take apart the whole front of the fridge. We had this damn fridge sitting on the front lawn with the doors in the flowerbed, the produce drawer propped up against the fence, etc. It had less than an inch of lateral clearance coming in.

That mufugga is staying when we move out.

‘I almost died from Pfizer – but still plan to get my daughter vaccinated’

It was just half an hour after her second dose of Pfizer that Kirsty’s nightmare began.

The mum-of-one began struggling to breathe due to her tongue and throat swelling up.

She was rushed to hospital, as her heart rate increased and began to vomit, and was immediately treated with oxygen, a nebuliser, adrenaline and antihistamines.

Kirsty was moved to ICU as doctors became increasingly concerned by her condition, and over the following week, she had a further five anaphylactic shocks.

One of these saw her airways swell so severely that her brain was deprived of oxygen, resulting in Kirsty having a seizure where she fell unconscious and was shaking uncontrollably in her bed.

She could briefly be reunited with daughter Harper-Rose, and fondly recalling giving her an “enormous cuddle”, but after just a handful of days at home, Kirsty was rushed back to hospital.

This is where she has remained ever since, having had a further five shocks and another ‘spontaneous epileptic seizure’, according to her doctors.

However, despite Kirsty almost losing her life multiple times, she still strongly encourages people get their COVID vaccines.

“This has been a truly terrifying experience – one I never even thought was possible – but it’s still so important people get their jabs,” she explained.

“Even though I have nearly died several times since getting vaccinated, I work in the care sector myself and I know how important it is.

Because my rage meter shouldn’t be the only one pegged, here’s an excerpt from our 2 kindergarteners’ teacher notes from the week:

    Happy Weekend ?
We’ve made it through 3 weeks already, I can’t believe it! Time is already flying by!
Our focus of learning this week included the letters/sounds Aa, Ss, Tt, and Pp. Please point out and practice these at home whenever opportunities come up (on signs, food/drink packages, TV, etc). We also focused on our identities, including our racial identities, and how each of us is unique and special. This is called diversity and is what makes our class, community, and the world such a great and interesting place. You should’ve gotten your child’s first homework assignment on Thursday. Please take a few minutes this weekend to discuss your/your child’s racial identity and something that they like, or are proud of, about their racial identity. We will be having a class discussion on Monday using the homework, so please do your best to get it done and returned on Monday. Thank you!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!! ☀️ ?

    • Yusef drives a Kia

    • rhywun

Sorry. I have no idea how you fight that evil stupidity.

Same as the other theaters of this culture war. Fight, withdraw, submit. Choose one.

    • Chafed

JFC. Teach your child to say, “I judge people by the content of their character.”

    • Akira

      It’s fucking scary.

Girlfriend’s kid (9th grade) was taught at school that the American settlers intentionally overhunted the buffalo for the explicit purpose of destroying the Native Americans’ food source and way of life.

      • UnCivilServant

That’s an old slander. They were saying that back when I was in high school.

      • Akira

Interesting; I never heard it (or there’s a good probability that I just wasn’t paying attention).

Years and years ago, I started something of an autodidactic journey, and in the course of that I realized that a ton of stuff I was taught in school was completely wrong. Just one example was that nobody wanted to finance Columbus’s voyage because they thought he would sail off the edge of the Earth.

Where do I go to get restitution for this faulty education I received?

    • trshmnstr the terrible

I apologize because I’m about to be an opinionated asshole about this.

Unless you’re ready to wage war on that schools district, you need to get them the fuck out. It will not get better. Your objections about the subject matter will place a target on your kids’ backs for extra indoctrination. Your kids will likely not make it through their schooling career with your familial beliefs and worldview intact.

Do what needs to be done to save your kids from being fed into this meat grinder. Spare no expense, don’t grieve any loss in lifestyle. With the way society is going right now, you’re losing the lifestyle either way. It’s just a matter of timing. Do right by the kids and get them an education that doesn’t turn them into hedonistic drones.

      • Chafed

Very likely correct. I’ll just note this shit is leading to recall elections and contested elections for local school boards.

      • anti pro state

No apology necessary. I knew this shit was coming, just gobsmacked that it’s this early. I doctrtination starts young. As far as I can see, public and private is the same, which just leaves home schooling.

    • one true athena

      Kindergarten. wow. hm.

If you’re a whiter shade of pale… Got a runaway slave in your family tree? well, now you do. If these cretins are gonna bring back the One Drop rule, I say use it against them. Play the Fauxahontas game, just mix it up a little.

      • Zwak, jack off, all trades

    • Ownbestenemy

This isn’t over. We need citizenship THIS YEAR.

I mean, the ballot harvests and cemetary vote are not as strong as they once were, plus a lot of the living voters are running away. We need grateful serfs perpetually dependant vote machines in order to secure ongoing permanant control.

      • Tres Cool

        Duh.
I linked the post someone made of Bill Melugin’s twatter feed of whats happeneing in Del Rio, TX. My comment was “you want more democrat voters? Let these people in and give them free shit.”

Meanwhile, Jugsy had to get her mRNA shot to be able to do anything in NYC, yet Im sure all the people pouring through there are CoVID-proof.

      • Festus

Jugsy is back for you and I am alone again.

      • Yusef drives a Kia

At least it’s not permanent, talk to a Glib or something, we exist you know,

      • TARDis

        give them free shit

I think I’ll stop calling it free shit. It’s more like stolen shit. Criminal assholes all around.

    • Festus

Pelosi – “Will no one rid me of this turbulent Senate Parliamentarian?”

      • Festus

That’s twice that she has shit in their collective cornflakes. Who is this woman?

      • Zwak, jack off, all trades

She is the Oracle who casts the auguries.

      • Ghostpatzer

        Ah, the Delphi variant.

      • Festus

        I don’t care, I like her!

    • Festus

It was the right decision. Canada can’t even keep our diesel subs running. What the Aussies need is a few nukes to use on their own people.

    • Ghostpatzer

Not liking what I’m seeing WRT supply chains in other areas. Placed an order for beaucoup paper products, they don’t go bad.

    • TARDis

I think I have a spare bathtub to make booze in.

  17. Ghostpatzer

Mornin’ all. Big day for the eldest spawn, starts his first full-time job. Empty nest getting nearer by the day.

    • Festus

That’s great news! Soon you’ll be Grand-Ghostpatzer and your winkle will not work the way it ought to.

      • Ghostpatzer

Said winkle has seen better days ?

    • TARDis

      Congrats. What’s he doing?

      • Ghostpatzer

“Communications specialist” for a healthcare group. Basically fielding calls from patients and routing/scheduling with the appropriate provider. The primary perk of the gig is that he will be the only xy in the group. Diversity FTW!

      • TARDis

That sounds like a good start.

        only xy in the group

We interviewed 6 people for 9 open positions last week. Five will be offered a position. The one that scored the best will be the only XX in the area… and she’s coming to my crew. Yikes!

        *chews fingernails*

I need to pick up some high quality Biden Filtersᵀᴹ to keep us animals out of trouble.

      • Ghostpatzer

6 people for 9 open positions

People still don’t want to work, I guess. Tough times.

      • Festus

I don’t get that. One needs to work.

      • TARDis

Hiring starts with in-house minions first. Transfers, followed by promotions, and then to the street. We had over thirty resumes to peruse promotions. Only six were qualified to be interviewed.

      • Zwak, jack off, all trades

My sons’ profession, music promotion for live events, has been destroyed by the response. But at least he is out there working as a waiter, doing something and paying his bills. I did something right.

      • Festus

        Bow-chicka -wow! Lucky!

    • Sean

I can start him at $40k a year and train him into a career.

      Just saying.

      • TARDis

How’s a kid supposed to afford a new Tesla with that kind of chump change?

      • Sean

        Onlyfans account?

      • TARDis

Exactly. Tik Tok star is also acceptable.

      • Ghostpatzer

That’s pretty much where he’s at. Took a while to convince him that it’s OK to take an entry level job and work his way up. Colleges have brainwashed kids into thinking that the piece of paper they provide will guarantee the a six figure salary right off the bat.

    • Festus

This will peter out, right? The boosters are dead for anyone under 65. Fucking Dems reached for the brass ring and missed it, by that much. Our fortified election is tomorrow.

      • Festus

Judi is away and she missed her chance at early voting. She was going to vote for the Libertarianish Party. I am so proud!

      • rhywun

        This will peter out, right?

Not until the last unclean child is blessed.

      • Festus

For you fine folk, not for us. I can recite every Judge’s name on your Supreme Court but not a single one from Canada’s. Ours are appointed and not vetted.

  18. Sean

    Employee shortages.
    Material shortages.
    Delivery delays.

FML. Not looking forward to the rest of the week.

    • Festus

Whelp, may as well grab a broom…

      • Sean

        Weird euphemism.

      • Festus

When all is lost, grab a broom and start cleaning. Never stand around.

  19. Gender Traitor

Good morning, Glibreakfast Club! This is the point in the show when I’d normally be racing around frantically trying to get ready to head out the door to work, but I’m on vacation this week! ? Thus, I’m instead ensconced on/at Tranquility Base again!

    • Gender Traitor

And it has rained – and just started raining again – so TT can’t mow, which means I don’t have to weed whack today either!

      • TARDis

Well he can still plow, and then you can whack.

    • Ghostpatzer

      Enjoy!

    • TARDis

      Happy for you. Enjoy!
