A few things locally were occurring that came up recently. No, not just the Cope Show, but my gut tells me that will get much more entertaining.
This is my review of Stone 25th Anniversary Triple IPA:
This begins with an email from my kid’s school district:
This afternoon, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Katherine Cooper ruled that it is unconstitutional for the state of Arizona to prohibit school districts from enacting face mask requirements.
As we noted to you in last Friday’s parent update, the SUSD Governing Board has provided SUSD Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel, in consultation with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH), with the authority to determine whether the current mask requirement should be maintained or re-issued.
Let it be known both houses of the legislature and the governor signing something into law is no longer within the bounds of the Arizona Constitution according to a judge appointed by that hardcore progressive, Jan Brewer. For more information on the Myth of the Rule of Law...
Then comes the CDC pretending to be scientists as they compare the spread of Covid-19 at schools between the largest two counties in Arizona:
In the crude analysis, the odds of a school-associated COVID-19 outbreak in schools with no mask requirement were 3.7 times higher than those in schools with an early mask requirement (odds ratio [OR] = 3.7; 95% CI = 2.2–6.5). After adjusting for potential described confounders, the odds of a school-associated COVID-19 outbreak in schools without a mask requirement were 3.5 times higher than those in schools with an early mask requirement (OR = 3.5; 95% CI = 1.8–6.9).
Emphasis mine, at least they admit that.
There is no baseline, or control in this report that suggests these “odds” are meaningful at all. They also forget one bit of context, namely the school districts in Maricopa county didn’t implement their measures until Aug 20, a couple days after the court ruling on Aug 17. In effect they found a loophole the law against mask mandates in schools does not go into effect until Sept. 29,therefore the local school districts can implement whatever measures they desire. This most recent outbreak peaked in AZ on Aug 16, so it was already beginning to go down for four days.
What is really interesting is when you break down the AZDHS Covid Dashboard by county.
I will ignore the part where there is a objectively a greater spread overall in one county vs. the other during the timeframe of their study and how that might manifest itself within the respective school systems. Why would these counties have such different results? For one Maricopa County is about 4x more populated that Pima, and the most recent age demographics I could find show a higher percentage of school age children (23.5% vs. 20.7%) account for the population in Maricopa county.
Since the vaccines have been available for several months by the time they began the study, the partisan breakdown between the vaccinated and unvaccinated is relevant. Maricopa county is (presumably) split fairly evenly between both versions of political insanity, while Pima county is more in line with other counties with an urban center by skewing to the left. Assuming the vaccines work (I lean more towards the affirmative category if it makes a difference) this would suggest a greater percentage of adults are vaccinated in Pima country and therefore reducing cases in proportion with the overall population—including school age children.
In short, more kids in Phoenix than in Tucson are testing positive because there are more kids and fewer of their parents are vaccinated. Which suggests the efficacy of kids wearing a dirty sock under their chins presented here is coincidental. This is in line with what researchers in Europe have found well over a year ago.
The issue the public health nannies have consistently failed at is understanding that in order for them to have any legitimacy in their decrees they must demonstrate the measures are effective enough that I or others cede decision making capacity to their supposed expertise. The onus is not on me to prove them incorrect, they need to demonstrate they are correct. It is here they have failed at every step. I am a merely a guy with a Masters degree (w/ BS in Chemistry) and an internet connection using data from government sources to inform my opinions and if I can poke holes in their research, then their research driving policy decisions is not particularly convincing.
Although if one of the MDs around here want to chime in and tell me where I’ve gone wrong, I’m all ears.
An IPA with an special occasion attached? Okay, Stone we get it you sold a ton of IPA over the years even though you’re famous for a borderline barleywine that openly insults their customers. Seriously, you guys got greedy and went for the low hanging fruit to celebrate rather than buckling down and putting out something people can really enjoy for $16 per six pack. I will admit, they do a good job of balancing out the scent of dirty socks in my face by loading it down with so much booze I notice the burn before the hop blast, followed by the malty backbone required for 12.6% abv. I can’t even say its bad, or even terrifying, but I can say its in line with their brand. Stone 25th Anniversary Triple IPA: 2.9/5
I like IPAs but a Triple? no thanks, let’s get some Belgian Tripels instead,
/I hate statistics
yes
Belgians know nothing of beer.
You do you, I’ll do Belgian ales and such,
Yeah, right.
And Italians know nothing of pasta, French know nothing of wine….
A Triple IPA is the same class as the American Barleywine.
My buddy and his wife ran in a half marathon out in Southampton this morning. A few of us went to cheer them on and had said we were going to make funny signs and we talked a lot of shit about who could make the funniest sign.
I stood on the side of the road with a gas mask on, with one of those paper masks people wear everywhere covering the canister of the gas mask. My sign said “You cant out run the virus” #Superspreaders!!!
So ridiculous Nobody would actually take me serious. I got a lot of tilted heads, but also a few middle fingers. My friend who was down the road a bit heard a lotta “you see that asshole with the mask?” At least I was entertained.
Dog Bless You for taking the risk serious. #TruePatriotsWearMasks
You are doing the Lord’s work.
I made the picture my avatar.
Is the building behind you a repurposed Friendly’s Ice Cream?
Or a Friday’s.
Im not sure exactly what it is but I dont think there are any of those in Southampton. Its kinda ritzy over there.
TGI Friday’s was a fast casual place, so probably not in the Amptons.
Friendly’s, in addition to the ice cream, used to run a bunch of diner-type restaurants, most of which were closed during one or another of the bankruptcy restructurings. Our local Friendly’s became a craft been place.
Joke’s on you, a month from now those will be mandatory in all the schools.
Its not polite to point out retards and mask nazi retards have serious mental problems.
Open mockery is an effective way show it.
? Golf ? Clap ?
1. We learned from Right Thinkers V Cardi B, you can’t do your own research.
2. Those internet screen grabs have no porn tabs open, I am dissapoint.
Not just her, but Nicki Minaj.
I recently watched Satyajit Ray’s Bengali version of Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, and it’s incredibly relevant. (The Steve McQueen version is also well worth a watch.)
Dumb question – outside of boards and cinderblocks (I’m not in college any more) – anyone have suggestions for simple bookcases that are easily accessible from both sides? I have a limited amount of floor space and trying to figure out how I can shelve a few more stacks of books in my “library”. Although after next weekend and I get a new chair from a relative (emptying out their house as they retire/move), I may not have space even for that….
The same thing as boards and cinder blocks, just with some 2X4s with a nice stain on them. Nice rustic look, easy to do.
We had a cheap set of shelves that used half lap joints between the risers and the shelves. They were composite board with wood veneer.
Something like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHAkTzQOpaE
How handy are you and do you have the tools? On first blush it wouldn’t be hard to make an open bookshelf (box) with the interior shelves screwed into the frame for rigidity at the price of adjustment. Or take two shallow bookcases back to back.
Glass blocks instead of cinder blocks and you can buy standard length boards with a laminate on them so no unfinished wood.
Not that handy, but I am planning to start doing some work on outdoor projects in my garage over the winter. I’ll take these suggestions for action then. Kinda need to wait and see how much space I have after I get the chair in that room.
I did have an Ikea thing in there before – middle of the room – but just a little too blocky/bulky (and half the cubbies had the pull out drawers in them too).
So are you handsome then?
You have books? I was assured only Progressives are educated and the rest of us are knuckle-dragging Neanderthals with no book learning.
It’s just The Bible, Atlas Shrugged, and 30 copies of The Art of the Deal.
And the Bible is autographed by Donald J. Trump.
Ikea Kallax
Kallax is what I’ve been using – just moved the “room center” 3×3 out to the living room to sit next to a 2×4 – free up that floor space and give me more shelf space in the living room. Been using Kallax units for years – better sized for my comic TPBs and HCs than some of the paperbacks, etc.
IKEA has okay shelves that open to both sides. You pack a bunch of books into each slot
Yeah kallax. Sorry chimed in late and didnt see previous posts on my phone.
Damnit, I had to blow off a week-long backpacking trip in the OBX with some friends, because I couldn’t get the time off work. Now I’m pissed.
Hmm. Anyone in the DMV Glibertariat hiked Cold Mountain? https://www.hikingupward.com/GWNF/ColdMountain/
I don’t think I have (thinking back 35 years here).
But I have hiked Old Rag.
I love Old Rag. I try to do it twice a year. Sadly, it’s gotten so popular that you really have to hike it during the week if you want anything approaching solitude.
It is not unconstitutional, however, for teachers to be incompetent and the students/kids to be aware of it.

IPA is an abomination.
Hey, I agree with Q! I think that was written about in Revelations.
Drink whatever makes you happy.
Don’t bitch about what makes other people happy.
Don’t tell me what to do or think or act!
Summoned by name, I am the overseer over you.
Sometimes the happy drinks the night before can make a person unhappy the next day
/Seasoned Traveler
….amen.
Then I have LITERALLY nothing to talk about.
Am I being detained?!?!?!?!
No but I do have restless anal syndrome so I suggest you step back
Bitching about what makes other people happy, is what makes me happy.
It’s a hard cross to bear, but I’ve learned to live with it.
Don’t bitch about what makes other people happy.
But that makes me happy.
BTW, my bro is moving closer to Michigan from the Lima area – anyone in the market for a house, I can send a link – great bargain. He’s done a ton of work on it in 3 years and it does have a number of fully accessible spaces (from wheelchair-bound FIL living with them).
Welp, the move has begun and we had an awesome win today. Note: The new place did not come with a fridge and because reasons, we cannot take our fridge with us.
Backstory: Some months ago, My Dude answered an ad on NextDoor for a free fridge that ran, but didn’t get cold. It is a very high-end fridge, and the very well-off lady bought another one instead of calling a repairman to fix it. My Dude thought he could fix and flip. Well. It sat in our garage all this time, not being fixed and flipped. You can probably see where I’m going.
My Dude gave up on the fixing and when we found out we would have to supply our own fridge, he called a repairman. $318 and some muscle later, there is a very high-end fridge at our new place. It fits, but only barely.
#winning
Also today, I have someone coming to buy a piece of furniture we do not want. Since we bought it used, I will be making a profit, as per usual.
I don’t know what it is, but I cannot stand to buy new when something else is perfectly fine, usuable, and probably I can find X thing in my taste. Maybe some ingrained “use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without” thing.
Sounds good. I like reusing – or until something is worn out…but then I still have issues tossing stuff out (ie. old laptops, etc.). Need to slowly sort through stuff and dispose of it while I have more time/space so I don’t use up as many storage units next time I move.
That fridge thing is like I dealt with at a rental unit in ’14. Pretty simple to replace a circuit card with a youtube video reference – but it’s probably a lot easier when there’s no food in the fridge.
We have what I call a “morgue” for old computer equipment and accoutrements we might need again.
I try to be a minimalist because I don’t like lots of stuff, but I do love my books and my knickknacks, tools and crafts.
I really need to clean out the spare part closet at some point. I doubt I’ll need those IDE ribbon cables again.
I have to call some college hunks to take away a room full of dead air conditioners and PCs that I was too lazy to deal with over the last decade. I can probably do it myself with the sub-par moving equipment I have but it will take multiple trips up and down the elevator and there are stairs in the way plus… lazy.
And…well…plus college hunks, right?
I’m under no illusions that if I go with them I’ll get actual college hunks. ?
We used them for our fridge…they were not college hunks. Just FYI
$318 for working, modern fridge is a big win. Now do it again with the furniture!
I knew you loved me.
I like used furniture because if it’s in good shape, it’s probably well built.
If I need something temporarily, I buy with an eye toward making a profit when I get done with it. I don’t bother fixing before I resell it.
I have a beautiful wooden futon frame that with a little cleaning last year after I finally replaced the disgusting mattress that had cat puke all over it looks like new again after 16 years. Unfortunately the cheap ass mattress I replaced it with is a POS but I was broke at the time. At least I don’t sleep on it any more, it’s kind of just for show at this point. But that frame is gonna last forever.
Maybe because we didn’t live through the war, “make do and mend” and such sound like good advice, not propaganda or grim reality. Yah, wherever it comes from, waste drives me nuts.
Yeah, I’m not an ecowarrior by any stretch, but recycling makes sense to me, and putting something in a landfill that could be burnt (cardboard/paper) shredded (plastic and aluminum), or shattered (glass) to make so ething else makes me shudder. I’d rather burn and/or compost my trash, but burning is verboten in most places and I have no use for compost because I don’t garden. I remember taking glass pop bottles back to the store to get the deposit back. I think Shatto still does that. I don’t throw out copy paper if the other side is blank. I use the other side if I need to print something unofficial.
Evidently, bottles and plastic have to have the bar code still on them to get CRV. So if the idea for CRV is to get people to not litter and homeless to collect those CRV containers, then why would people collect barcode-less containers?
Ok, Pie. I got a single Powerball ticket in your honor and we will now refer to it as “our ticket” for legal reasons.
04 06 09 10 33 – 16
You are now invested in the drawing.
?
Just bought a 5 pack through the VA lottery site. Deposited $20 (can use for other stuff later) and got a “free” extra $10 credit – probably need to use in a couple days.
OMG I had no idea you could play online!! Cha-CHING
No online here – where’s my shocked face.
And the 50% credit?? YAS
Bought a single ticket
I call shenanigans. Mexi is an IPA hater. Take that into account and that beer gets at least four points. Just don’t drink more than one.
Fake news. I don’t hate IPA, I merely find it abominable.
Trader Joe’s was a maskapaloozafest today. 🙄
At least two moms had unmasked kids in tow under twelve and unmasked. Good for them.
The % of masks was much higher than I was expecting.
Joe’s continues to discontinue everything we like. Bastards.
Oh? like what?
Sounded as if they had interesting new (not pumpkin-spice related!) stuff but I haven’t been there yet to verify.
Bacon ranch dip, garlic herb butter, jalapeno almond dip, parsnip chips, flaxseeded tortilla chips, 50/50 brisket/sirloin burgers, etc.
Aw.
They carried those flaxseed chips forever! Hm. Herb butter and bacon dip should be easy to replicate.

Yeah, but I’m lazy.
Heh, me too. Dammit.

Knights v. Kings game last night was masked through the concourse and no more. Even the stair attendants were half masked while walking up and down the steps with a sign “Mask Up!” Everyone determined their own level of risk
Saw the same in the King Kullen out here. Masks are making a serious comeback. So sad.
Stopped at a brewery that had their official opening today. Staff – 100% unmasked. Visitors – 80% unmasked. I was disappoint.
At least the beer was good, and I got to chat with their head brewer.
So I had to see this on my way to breakfast this morning.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/biden-expressway-sign-work-slows-i-81-traffic/ar-AAOXzUn
I thought I was having hallucinations, but I saw it again and yelled WTF loud enough to drown out my car stereo.
Let’s no name stuff after people, but if you insist than wait till their dead. That way if they touch a kid or ruin the nation you don’t need to change the sign later.
Sure why not. Seems like the proper use of funds. Can’t quite use the usual claim that it has been in the works for years though or that it isn’t a politicial statement. But whateves
And a downtown shopping street.
Puke.
Even here in NY where the bridges and tunnels are a rogue’s gallery of crooked Democrats, they at least wait until they’re dead before changing all the signs to names that nobody will ever use.
“Even here in NY where the bridges and tunnels are a rogue’s gallery of crooked Democrats”
Except for the big one, “Gov. Thomas E. Dewey Thruway”. Named after the pachyderm who defeated Truman in 1948. About time to change that.
I don’t know how that one slipped though. Other than it was many decades ago, before we became a one-party state.
Are we all that sure he’s not?
$100.00 got me four cheap beers (bud lights) and three double vodkas last night. I say I made it our cheap for a live game.
They serve hard liquor at ballgames?
Those DUIs aren’t gonna write themselves….
Why wouldn’t they?
In a way they do, scan license, auto generate ticket, and call BIL’s towing company for your car,
Easy money!
Not an ID shown when I bought booze last night.
They’ve served cocktails here for a couple years now. Of course, they give you a precise measure they water down with sour mix or what have you.
Yeah and cause they are locked on the bottle and measure the pours it is what it is. Since opening her own business, wife has nearly cut out alcohol but she enjoyed it and the game nonetheless.
Even though my Kings got gutted

That is hilarious
“Some of these people were out to change the world, if it hadn’t been for those meddling kids”
Wow. That is fabulous.
Tremendous. 100% Velma is the main attraction. The bigliest.
Tax-and-spend cheerleader opens up his big brain again and out pour the usual fever dreams.
Oh, but they’re lying because restaurants are “near or at 100 percent full at peak times”.
(Narrator: No, they are not. Certainly not in Narrator’s area.)
Instead, these imaginary hordes of restaurant-goers give lame excuses for why the office sucks balls now:
So lame, right? Report your daily temperature and spend an hour commuting to do your part for the city’s tax coffers, lame-os!
CWAA
But supper at a nice little bistro will be fine even with other maskless diners sitting cheek-to-cheek, spewing their tequila-scented breaths in our faces.
Sounds like a fun place. Not a bistro, but still sounds fun
Apropos of nothing. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not that bright. Takes about two weeks of mulling over an idea before lightning strikes. This is why my parents always shook their heads and how everything I attempt turns to near catastrophe. I’m dim. And stubborn. Mulish, even. Gah!
There is nothing wrong or diminishing about a discerning mind. Animals react with little forethought, humans think and reason.

Been there, thankfully not in an actual life or death situation, just a few billion in transfers sitting in a stuck queue an hour before closing. In 1993, when a few billion was a lot of money.
Our best technicians are not the ones that run out and start swapping cards and chasing ghosts. They are the ones that take a few to review, analyze, and determine the course that will provide the fix needed.
Meanwhile the “run out and do anything” techs are still playing swap-tronics hoping for something to fix anything.
OMG this query is sloooooowwww
Upgrading our accounting software and they’ve deprecated a bunch of stuff. This is so much fun….
This query?
Select a.*, b.*
From big_table a
Full outer join bigger_table b
On 1= 1
Ctrl A, del, done.
Seems that way.
It’s a materialized view full of sales metrics that runs across multiple date ranges for every sales item.
Took 28 min 11 sec.
Oh joy. I used to optimize this kind of stuff. These days, we just throw hardware at the problem. Amazing what parallelization can do on a 48 node cluster.
I wrote the damn thing, but they removed a standard costing function that returned a numeric with a function that returns a custom type with multiple variables.
Now I’ve got to find every place I used that damn code and add a tier to the query to fix it. Grrrr…..
Condolences.
“Dumb question – outside of boards and cinderblocks (I’m not in college any more) – …”
Upgrade to milk crates/landscaping timber.
Kilo bricks and dead hookers add a certain ambiance.
At my local, working their excellent hazy pale ale. I’m guessing dry hopped with something citrusy. Mrs. Dean’s fave, so a growler fill along with the takeout sandwiches.
Life is good. Don’t let the bastards get you down. That’s how they win.
Don’t engage with the broken. They thrive on that energy. Just refuse. If they try to argue, just don’t. You don’t owe them anything. A polite “No” is all they deserve. As the Mexican says, it’s the on them, not you, to show you should comply.
Only way to win is to not play the game.
Good advice. A firm but polite, “No,” followed by silence, is an amazingly useful conversational tool.
Indeed. Just returned from lunch with Mrs. Patzer at a local ME joint. Falafel, hilimmus, black olives. Nice to be able to go on a date.
Well, hummus actually, although I’m sure hilimmus would have been fine.
It takes me five hours or so to get my body moving, it’s always a painful process, but I need to excercise, so at two PM I go ot the Disc course. I drove right into a Squall line, Heavy rain, but I continued on, when i get there it had stopped raining, but everything was a swamp, even the teepads had standing water. I had to go home, I didn’t bring enough towels to clean off all the mud, Bummer.
Sorry about that. Have a song.

So on the front of work. Going to exemption route knowing it is up to my useless boss as the final say regarding if that exemption is granted or not. She is meek and is slow to make a decision in all areas. I figure since I am actually one who excels in my positions and has no discipline marks, she would be hard pressed to fire me. A bit of hubris on my end but damn it…I have a large ego
Nothing wrong with being good Brother, stand your ground,
Since management went through attestation and I refused to answer, she knows I either don’t want to answer and she has to assume unvaccinated. Part of me wants to vaccinate and still hold firm on ‘it isn’t a condition of employment or a safety need to know otherwise’.
Last few all managers meetings it is apparent that I am not alone.
You are not alone. Don’t let them make you feel like the unreasonable one.
Wishing you success. Tough decision.
So it is, I may yet pay the price and lose everything I have built in the last year, but I have Faith,
I’m mentioned a day or so ago. I struggled with going the exemption route because I do not like to tempt God or the universe. If I make that choice it is because I have prayed on it, thought of it and have come to terms of what it may lead to.
Best wishes.
Thanks. Their road is long if they choose to remove. So that gives me a long lead time to spin up something if it comes down to that.
God Bless ya! keep up the good work,
My sister works In a hospital system and filed a religious exemption. The hospital system had 1400 staff refuse to vax at first when a deadline came and went. Now they are down to 500 unvaxxed.
My sister got the ‘rona and had 24 hours of minor symptoms. Shes fighting the vax.
Good luck with the fight.
That’s the hope. Seems FedGov is either going to have to approve all religious mandates or none. It opens them up to a lawsuit otherwise. Emp A gets it but across the nation, emp B said same thing and didn’t.
Interesting. I sent you a message on the forum.
Got it. I’ll see what I can find

You’re not following the SCIENCE!@!!11!!!1
The reason Lefties are acting out is because you dont need any fancy degrees to hold them to scientific method. You dont need to go thru their gatekeepers.
A lot of you (2 at least) are drinking beer already. I hate being left out. I believe I will join you.
Cheers!
I haven’t had any alcohol today.
Two. First and last.
Anything good?
I’m on the fence about heading out to the brewpub tonight. I up for the gym at 6:30 AM, then I was up in Concord for an event that I’ll write up for Too Local News. I haven’t gotten anything done around the house.
Beer is bad for you. I’m drinking whisky sours.
Decided on Franziskaner Weissbier with a late lunch of BLTs. Homegrown tomatoes on them, as God intended,
That’s a good one, I need to get my local guy to get it. Thanks for the reminder.
I just started to put one of my Kayaks away for the Winter and just that 10 minutes killed my back, I have to stop for a while, I’m still not done, and it’s gonna rain again, Dang it!
When you’re a celebrity, they let you break the rules about not using full auto in a match
That looks fun but cumbersome.
He only burned 75 rounds per stage, give or take.
I love Ian (he’s an old college buddy, no joke) but if I’d been ROing that stage where he burned half a stick into the target he forgot, I would have disqualified him for unsportsmanlike conduct. Don’t do that. It’s bad for your score, it makes more work for the ROs, and you look like an asshole.
Wiped out. The pup kept alerting me to intruders overnight, then I shot and tore down a match. Now I want to sleep. The pup wants to lay. So we’ll play.
Making a peach BBQ sauce to go along with the grilled pork tenderloin, roasted Brussel sprouts and steamed veggies for tonight.

Violence is the answer.
I predict some real shit going down in CA, with the mandatory vaxx for kids. Don’t fuck with people’s kids, even if they’re the worst.
I predict an overwhelming approval from Cali and the parents willingly dosing their kids.
Why else would we utilize asymptomatic spread…cause that is all this is based on
I’m not claiming a majority here. Not by a long shot.
Yeah, you don’t need to. Shit is still going down.
I keep thinking that after each new affront to common sense but here we are. I saw some snippet on the news about how now they want pregnant women to get vaxed.
I just keep buying more ammo and mags.
And these people still don’t have a clue.
IPAs are like jazz and Hennessey.
People only like it because it’s cool and hip.
How’s things down in the city?
The only positive thing I’ve seen is that the few bars requiring vax proof are always empty. In a city with a bar every 2 steps, that’s not an ideal way to do business.
My job is requiring vax proof but they keep pushing back the date we have to go back. Now it’s Jan 3 where we have to show proof or get fired.
That’s reasonably good news. The courts have shown they are the enemy of freedom but there’s still time for the world to come to its senses and put a stop to this shit.
I ordered another flashlight I don’t really need.
Uhm…it’ll be for my car. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Err, I mean an upgrade for my car. No idea what I’ll do with the existing one. ?
*Points at your avatar.*
What did you get?
ThruNite Catapult V6
I usually go Fenix. Trying something new.
And here I thought it was a euphemism for more guns and ammo.
I did place some gunbroker bids, but got outbid.
I ordered some ammo last month, but not a lot. Just enough to scratch the itch. July and August was a lot.
How much 12 ga. do I need? I have over 500 PDX rounds and several thousand target loads, and multiple Magazines, what else? a Nuke?
And a F15.
I have enough runway to do it, but I think an Attack Helicopter would work better up here, the targets are closer,
I stock enough ammo to hunt/defend myself for years. I reload too, so I think I set for the rest of my natural life.
I browsed GunBroker the other day.
No big purchases until my job situation is sorted out.
My priorities are fishing gear and Xbow gear, there is plenty of game and fish to go around, and my gun is for Self defence, maybe some fowl,
And here I thought it was a euphemism for more guns and ammo.
So did I.
Nice.
I’m holding out for an insanely high-powered light that can also change its focus from spot to flood. The ones I’ve seen so far are tantalizingly close to what I want, but not quite there yet . . .
You can never have enough Flashlights, batteries and Knives, Guns are obvious, a sharp knife? not so much,
I sometimes leave home without a gun, if I’m going somewhere where it’s a felony beef to carry or if I’m likely to go through a metal detector. But I always have a knife or two on me…
Comment eaten, trying again,

Been considering going the bowcaster route. Don’t know a damn thing about them. Is that one you can recommend? Sure looks like a winner….
Well as far as starting to ebay junk to free up junk, funds….just looking through some old boxes – figured may be worth dumping some Magic: The Gathering stuff on an individual basis – easier to “grade” than comics in the short term.
Turns out I actually have a few sealed boosters and a sealed starter kit and a lot of singles that should be worth mailing on an individual basis (even a foil). May not wind up being that much after shipping, etc – but not the worst deal. Don’t think I’ve bought anything new since 2013.
May see if I can get $20 or so from dropping off the remainders at a gaming store in a few weeks.
Oops…last sets I bought were in ’03-’04. No wonder they’re worth it on ebay.
how does shipping work? I have no upfront cash for shipping what i sell,
Most likely added to the cost of the item and reimbursed to me when payment clears – for ebay. We’ll see exactly how it works, but I think I’m out of pocket until the payment clears – that’s how it was before. I’ll need to buy some shipping stuff at officemax tomorrow. Pretty sure I can set the actual shipping costs when I list the item to cover all my shipping costs and costs of packing. (for simplification, probably won’t ship outside the US).
Back in the day half.com would actually allot a shipping amount – for flat rate media mail – but I don’t know what it’s like now.
Cool thanks for the info, I’ll dig deeper, it may be worth it,.
I got 10 gallons of mead bottled today.
