Greetings thrillseekers and people bored at home! There’s a lot going on, but only on one day, and all of it bad.
First of all, we’ve got an alignment of the sun with Mercury and Saturn, which is indicative of sudden/unexpected endings, bad luck in general, transportation failures and gunshot wounds. Also on that day, Venus goes retrograde, so all of the typically benevolent love/peace/sex influences gets flipped on their head (especially for Capricorns). Annnnd in conjunction (lol) with Venus retrograde we have an alignment with said Venus retrograde with the moon and the earth which portends particularly sudden and bad things on the domestic front.
Now I’m not saying that you’ll arrive home to discover that a new family has moved in, your bank account is empty and there’s a copy of your wife’s wedding announcement to your high school rival in the mailbox. But if that did happen, it would fit the celestial messages.
The skies on Christmas have no malign influences, so that’s good.

I saw your article. The issue is real and growing worse. I should be out of this state before I get into the old age, first name basis with the nurses, stage of life. But I went sailing yesterday and for a swim after watching Comet Leanord last night- so the state still has some good.
Nope, didn’t see it. I will agree with dbl. It is a shame what that state has become, but is still an amazing spot on the globe. Friggin awesome. When you can get fresh ahi poke from the corner shop……I dunno. They probably wouldn’t let me visit now being unclean and all.
When you want a break from winter come on out. Entry is still changing every time the Guv looks at a pile of tuna entrails, but in general if you have a current test you are GTG. Some of my favorite dives were killed in the panicdemic, but much remains. Right now hotel rooms are tight because of the Navy’s oops.
The Navy contaminated the water lines to Pearl Harbor, Hickam and related areas with jet fuel. Now all those residents are living in hotel rooms until the lines are purged and clean.
What I don’t know about HI is just about everything. Went once as a kid. Some talk in the WSJ comments about anti-haole racism. ?
Stopped at the airport. While the plane was being refueled, I too, was being refueled. I asked the bartender for “one of the drinks with an umbrella in it”. No idea what it was but I wanted to look cool.
Unless I win the lottery and am able to purchase a blue water sail boat, which I am pretty sure I did since I have a powerball ticket in my car that I am sure is a winner, I will not be visiting. I refuse to partake in the charades. I am going to some training next month in TX. I told the boss I will drive myself and will not participate in the mask theatre the airlines do. #willnotcomply
Mrs. Whiz and I own a small condo-hotel unit in Waikiki, right across from the zoo. It’s rented out most of them time, but we visit once a year or so. When we were there in September, you had to be vaxxed and masked to get in pretty much anywhere — fortunately, not at the beach.
That is what keeps Cali alive also. It is so fricken beautiful it becomes a gumption trap.

Looks pretty underhanded and devious on Lily’s part there. Poor ole’ Duncan is like “Hey buddy! Good to see you! Are you taking a picture, or are you going to pet me?!?!” SNEAK ATTACK! Get him while he’s distracted!
She loves attacking from ambush and using terrain to her advantage. Even as a wee pup she’s tried to take advantage of her surroundings like hiding under chairs so her mom couldn’t get at her. He mom was ruthless and had very long legs, so the tactic was spectacularly ineffective, but she was still thinking strategically.
Thankfully, Not spared us the gory aftermath.
Speaking of gory aftermaths, I need to watch this week’s The Expanse.
The park this morning was wonderful. Clean fresh snow and all the uptight owners who freak out if their precious furbabies might get rolled were absent. Only those owner/dog pairs that like/need the cold and roughhousing. Remarkably well-attended too.
No snow here. With rifle season over, the dog wanted me to take him for a walk out in the woods.
I went to my first superspreader event!
I bought tickets to see Berlin almost two years ago, the show was originally scheduled for March 2020 and got postponed a bunch of times, but it finally happened last night. A couple hundred people, indoors, interacting with strangers, and nobody wearing masks despite Lord Gavin’s decree that the peasantry cover their faces in public.
Anyways, obviously I’m a walking dead man now, so RIP me, but worth it. Also, I recommend seeing Berlin if you get the chance.

Productive work has been done. I now have a quarter batch of Tom and jerry batter. I didn’t think I would need to use a full dozen eggs for the girlfriend and me… based on how much I’ve got just with the quarter batch, I was correct.
Tom & Jerry has gone extinct around here. Used to be as common as hot buttered rum mix.
The girlfriend asked for a hot drink last night, so I made her up a hot buttered rum. She didn’t believe me at first that there was really supposed to be butter in it. I’m aware of only a couple of bars that offer the hot buttered rum as a special, none that generally offer the Tom and Jerry.
